Wish it wasn't a one game playoff for the wild card. The Yankees/Sox could win 100 games plus and then be eliminated in a one game wildcard playoff-I get the excitement, but after playing 162 games, just don't feel its right. To me, the wild card playoff is simply who has the best number one starting pitcher.Sox lose Pomerantz and Yanks lose Montgomery.
Seattle and Paxton look like they will be opponent for the 2nd place AL East team.
There is huge motivation to win the division. Under the old system, the Sox and Yankees could relax at the end of the season because winning the division did not matter.Wish it wasn't a one game playoff for the wild card. The way Wright has pitched lately, I’d much rather have him or even Velazquez in the rotation. It’s refreshing to see how quickly Wright works, too.Sox lose Pomerantz and Yanks lose Montgomery.

My details may be off here, but I vaguely remember hearing on the radio that in (I think Korea) the lower wild card team has to win twice, the higher wild card team only has to win once to advance. Something along those lines.Instead of a 1 game playoff.
I wish MLB would make the play-in game a best of 3.
Ideally you schedule a doubleheader on the first day and then if they spilt a winner take all game the next day.
1 game for a team that wins 95+ isn’t fair.
I get wanting to make divisions matter but the 1 game playoff sucks if you have a really good team.
That would work as well and is fair.My details may be off here, but I vaguely remember hearing on the radio that in (I think Korea) the lower wild card team has to win twice, the higher wild card team only has to win once to advance. Something along those lines.
yeah, that's the Evan Roberts way.My details may be off here, but I vaguely remember hearing on the radio that in (I think Korea) the lower wild card team has to win twice, the higher wild card team only has to win once to advance. Something along those lines.

Houston would be the division winner and Seattle the wild cardI don't see Seattle besting Houston. The Astros starting pitching is too good. Kudos to Seattle for playing well so far but when you have a staff like Houston's you can avoid bad losing streaks and that will eventually enable them to win the AL West.

Yeah I know playing the Orioles, Tigers, Blue Jays, Mets in June is such a killer schedule.I know the Yankees have a ton of rain outs to make up, but are the redsux taking the month of August off???
They play every day...v last place teams too.
Please stop having AL pitchers hit and run bases! No Tanaka and Montgomery I wonder who the Yankees will steal this trade season. As if Sabathia gets injured and we know it’s coming Sonny Gray will be your 2nd starter.
Sonny, who is our War Time Captain, has been #2 since he’s been throwing to Romine.Yeah I know playing the Orioles, Tigers, Blue Jays, Mets in June is such a killer schedule.
The Yankees have been rained out s lot thankfully the Sox haven’t.
