2019 Coaching Carousel

Folks learning "Baylor's offense " is likely not learning Sanskrit or something. It's all about concepts. Let's not make it more than it is. A guy like Moorhead could easily come in and learn that quickly. While it sounds like there's no indication that there will be changes in the offense, Mooorhead would be an excellent addition and I would think Dino plus Moorhead would be formidable.

The question is -Would Dino bring in a non-Baylor offense guy. The answer is probably not. I'm beginning to think Defenses have gotten used to the Baylor Offense.
Take a look at what the Baylor offense has done for the CUSE? Three losing seasons in four is not good and much of the blame should be pointed at the defense.

Dino is still looked at favorably in many AD's eyes and if the CUSE wins 8 - 9 games next year, he could go to another P5 school. Just my thought here!
Yeahhhhh...no. He has to demonstrate consistent winning before any AD would consider him seriously.

ok, Moorhead becomes QB coach/asst head coach and Martin gets sent packing to make room for him, since Lynch isn't going anywhere apparently. Now all we need is Mr. Rourke and Tattoo to make this happen.

poor Rutgers, if this had happened a few weeks ago, they could have gotten a better coach for a lot less money, although Moorhead might be too smart to take that crap gig.

If you have a chance to grab a coach like Joe Moorhead, you should at the very least inquire as to any interest he may have to work at your school. Moorhead has a good offensive mind, he will not be unemployed very long unless he chooses to be.

Let's face the facts that nothing will happen for Stanard will be the DC and Lynch the OC. Bringing in an offensive mind like Moorhead makes sense but get ready for more of the same with Lynch as OC.

Moorehead has definitely been fired. Syracuse should make a play here. I'd be ok with making Stannard the DC if it meant bring in Moorehead to be Co-OC and QB coach. Miss St is going to be on the hook to owe him gobs of money. Maybe he's a bargain for a year.

...and then (the NJ/Downstate guys) will have their recruiter.

They could make Martin an Analyst. It's not that big a deal and the guy obviously is a good football coach with a good football mind.

I said something along this and people freaked on me and told me “you can’t just move someone to an analyst position.”

nobody said you can't move someone to an analyst position. Your idea was to bring in an OC to be an analyst and still give him the OC title.

The only person on the staff who might willingly take a demotion to analyst and not quit would be Martin.

Moorhead isn’t taking an OC job from anywhere but a factory.
Penn State would probably have rehired him if they knew he was getting fired.

Moorhead is going to be a candidate for a Northeast/Midwest MAC HC job.
He is a guy I would target to replace Dino if he were yo leave.

Anyone who thinks that Lynch is the lead architect of offensive game planning and play calling simply doesn't understand how involved HCDB is on that side of the ball.

That alone scares me.

I wouldn't plan on any "big name" hires this year. We're going to have to wait until the coaches convention and probably grab a pretty non-inspiring positional coach that may have some ties to FL/GA recruiting territory.

Kent State: Sources tell FootballScoop that running backs coach Macky MacPherson will not return.

I wonder what happened here?

Couscuse is assuming he's taking over one of the open NFL HC jobs
