2019 Coaching Carousel

From what I read on Twitter from the Oklahoma State fan base, they were fine letting him go and had someone already ready to come in and take the OC role. Is it true? Who know? But many seem to believe so.

Gleason had very little to do with that offense. He was at Oklahoma State for 1 year. So you can understand why the fans wouldn’t care much.

Gundy is the mastermind and Yurich ran it for 6 years prior to this year. Then Monken(2), then Holgorsen (1), Brewer(2), Fedora (3).

Gleasons only college coaching experience prior to this year was Princeton and Fairleigh Dickinson. Could be considered a bright young mind (I don’t know because I’d never heard of him until today) but he has very little experience and was at OkSt for one season. They finished 8-5 and scoring was down.

Spot on. Multple P5 programs were after him. Miami had serious interest and tried hard to get him. Gundy tried everything he could come up with to get him to stay at Ok St...

LOL is that the spin.

Start Macky low and pay professional assistants. Sound thinking.
Be a fun troll don’t be a stupid troll.
If you said hire Macky as a position coach you would get support.
To go from a position coach of a MAC team to a HC of a P5 team is just stupid.
It’s not even cute. Macky isn’t getting the HC job here if Dino leaves.

We aren’t an on the job training ground. We actually want to win games.

I meant it in humor in the first place, people don't have any sense of humor anymore. Lewis would be the guy if Dino left.

To be fair, based on your posting history, it is extremely difficult to discern humor vs. beliefs.

Go back to putting your blinders on.
How’s Rutgers doing with that sure thing locked down RB that everyone said was so good?

One player. Don’t be so silly.

When they go 4-8 every year because Shady is a bum and because they have 4 automatic division losses every year plus automatic losses whenever they draw Iowa/Wisconsin/Minny, the recruits will laugh and go elsewhere

Do you even know what my argument is? I’m not implying they’re going to get 4-5 star players and do amazing.

They’re going to be a pain in our butts because they’re going to be recruiting a lot of similar players as us around the country. It’s already happening. People can put blinders on if they want but they’re going to be tougher to recruit against going forward than they had been the last few years.

Rutgers was already recruiting similar players to us.
They have 3 superpowers to deal with and we have 2 and one of them is down.

Our schedule is only 8 conference games theirs is 9.
Schiano isn’t going to turn them around. He will be lucky to get to consistent 6-6 level and that will take 4-5 years which I doubt he will get it.
This isn’t going to be Edsall 2.0 but Schiano 2.0 doesn’t scare us.
He made Rutgers mediocre to above average after Miami/Virginia Tech/Boston College left the Big East.
He is dumb in-game coach.

They will go 3-9 the next 2 years. We just need to beat them twice.
We are lucky we are playing them on the road in his year 1. That roster won’t be his players.

The only place we recruit heavily where they may be an issue is Canada. We don’t recruit the tri-State area heavily and that will be their big focus. Shady or not they will still be lousy and less of a pain than you think

I guess I’m missing something or you skimmed through my post. I never said none of those things wouldn’t be true with anything I’ve said since Shady was hired. I’ve only said, he will be somewhat of a pain on the recruiting trail. He’s a better recruiter than his predecessors and has a better stafff. He’s not getting kids looking at Ped state or ND and neither are we. We’re going to be looking at a decent amount of the same players and he has a decent staff to recruit.

Rutgers will not materially affect the overall trajectory of our program. Take your own blinders off.

Well our recruiting trajectory has not been that strong, better than Shafer but still low in the ACC. So I guess you’re right, he’s not going to impact our current trajectory since we have the same recruiting staff.
