With his system and the athletes he could get at Baylor it would be like Briles Baylor all over again.

Hopefully Wildhack would be able to snatch Moorhead up if that crazy hypothetical happened.

They’re going to be a pain in our butts because they’re going to be recruiting a lot of similar players as us around the country. It’s already happening. People can put blinders on if they want but they’re going to be tougher to recruit against going forward than they had been the last few years.

A). We weren’t recruiting against them as is - with Ash
B). Around the country is patently false. Schady will recruit his conference footprint like everyone else in the world does who’s not a national selector school.

C). They tried to flip Leon Lowery and couldn’t do it.

I get that it can be fun to bash Shady and Rutgers, they give us plenty of material. I do find it amusing though that there are fans that think we are somehow amazingly better of a football program than Rutgers. From an overall history we are but since the turn of the century that’s debatable. I love Syracuse football, season ticket holder for multiple years but some of ya should take 5 minutes and look at the last 20 years of football and just see how Syracuse stacks against the rest of the NCAA, not even Buttgers. We have not been exactly blazing a trail and some of ya all are acting like we are king $#!%. I am just an old military guy, would rather see us go old school and let our play do the talkin. Go Cuse!

Berger was another ‘one’ kid there for the taking and he couldn’t close the deal. He couldn’t flip any good kids from any big schools. Got 4 south jersey kids to bail on Temple (2) (hired their coach), 1 from Purdue and 1 from VT, who were also both tight with the Temple coach. Didn’t hurt Syracuse at all.

You should list all the kids in our class(es) who he would’ve ‘hurt’ us for. Some examples or evidence for why he’s going to hurt us other than being afraid of what he did to a fired coach 15 years ago. It’s not exactly the same landscape. He can’t even trash our facilities anymore. Cripes they still practice in a bubble.

2 weeks after his hire isn’t going to tell us much. 2-3 yrs from now we’ll see if he’s a pain in butt or not.

Sometimes they like to introduce the new coach/coaches to the team before making a public announcement. It's not about the general student body but rather the players.

Exactly, I don’t care if it takes another 2 months as long as a solid hire is made. I’m more anxious we get a guy that doesn’t have previous success to get excited about, can’t recruit but DB knows him so that’s who gets hired.

Pay attention and you will see hires that happen because of the convention. It happens every year.
I don’t care if other teams have hired coaches.
We just need to get this right at whatever pace is needed.

I guess I’m missing something or you skimmed through my post. I never said none of those things wouldn’t be true with anything I’ve said since Shady was hired. I’ve only said, he will be somewhat of a pain on the recruiting trail. He’s a better recruiter than his predecessors and has a better stafff. He’s not getting kids looking at Ped state or ND and neither are we. We’re going to be looking at a decent amount of the same players and he has a decent staff to recruit.
