2020-2021 NY Knicks Season Thread

Agree 100% -
Knicks let me down last night, but have watched more Knicks games than I have in many years.
Fun to watch and study the young/developing players like IQ and imagine Good Things Ahead!

All while trying not to think about Ntilikina, Knox, Smith... and possibility Obi joins them!
i need Obi to stop jacking 3s likes hes Girard and cant penetrate.

Obi can, Girard cant...just go to the rim big man!!

I think he will be fine, but hes not a game changer.

Quickley, other than Melo, could be my favorite Knick since Starks.

I know it's not the Heatles, but when IQ, RJ and Randle are out there, I at least know we have a puncher's chance with guys that are easy to root for.

Obi is starting to worry me more than a little. We have more top ten picks who are not stars than any franchise I can think of.

Hmm. Interesting I said I didn't want him. I wanted Haliburton.

You didn’t want him, but you think he should be a starter. How does that work?

Because. We ended up drafting him Top 10 pick. Why is he not starting. Haliburton is starting for Sacramento.

Obi was always a high floor/low ceiling guy from what I thought.

I still think he'll potentially be a rotation guy, but I'm not banking on it. At least for a team that is hosting a first round playoff series.

IQ all day, though. And let's see if the new regime can hit on the upcoming draft. Going to have a couple of cracks again.

i think the lack of preseason and then the injury slowed him a bit. Tibs still runs him out there, which is saying something. i think he just needs the reps, the game is too fast for him now.

IQ all day is right, hes our PG for the future, keep him coming off the bench for now though. 1 because its the smart thing to do, 2 because it pisses off cuserunner.

having guys that are easy to root for is right, Randle's TO's arent bothering me yet.

yet being the key word there...

I'm trying to stay positive with Obi and give him time.
From interviews/etc at draft time, impressed that, like IQ, Obi is a high character, high effort guy AND also a Knicks fan since a kid-
Therefore rooting hard for Obi to stick and be a factor in Knicks' future. He was described as a project anyway regarding defense -may just need some time to get it together.

You didn’t want him, but you think he should be a starter. How does that work?

Actually if you think about it, it almost makes sense. If you dont know anything about basketball, and you didnt want a guy, then there's a decent chance he's actually good!

That said Obi has been super unimpressive. And the good part about him being an older player was he was supposed to be ready to contribute right away. I've said it before, but it makes things a lot easier if you just pretend IQ was the lottery pick and Obi the guy considered a reach in the 20s

Porzingas for Smith and this years 1 and a protected 1 in 2 years...looks pretty bad right now.
You all are watching the mavs right now right? They have a comparable record than the Knicks, Prozingis and Donicic don’t really get along and Porzingis is playing like the medicore player he is. This is all
before porzingis has some muscle injury that ices him for a month. The Knicks got lucky they didn’t get sucked into giving him a monster contract.

The Knicks bigger problem is bombing on Frank and Knox... obi looks a little lost to. At least quickly and rj are playing well.

BTW. I think we should go out and trade for Zach Levine. Let's start coming up with a trade package.

C- Robinson -Randle -Barrett G-Levine G-Quickley

Now we are cooking.

So you’re going to trade none of your good players, and land a 25 ppg guy?

Rose and WorldWideWes can be creative. Dont give up draft picks though especially this year we have two probably in lottery.

There is some talent coming up in the next few drafts. We're not on the clock to win now. Let's see how the available talent / our picks shake out closer to the draft.

We haven't really seen Kuminga or Green and we should be able to land one of those guys potentially. There are a few other guys that could have some potential.
