I'd love lamathieu never really thought he was leaving the Yankees. Would be happy with an infield of Alonso McNeil Lindor and Giminez.

LaMahieu wants to get paid he has been top 3 in the MVP 3 last 2 years.

Mets can make a splash and he is a good fit.
This is the leverage the Yankees didn’t want to see.
DJ LaMahieu won’t cost too much.

I think the mets would be happy moving McNeil to 2nd and using the money for a real CF or another reliever but who knows. Big question is the DH or not

I originally was thinking the Mets would only get one big name free agent position player. Maybe we get two now.

I would be good with adding Springer and Realmuto and running with this lineup:

Nimmo LF
McNeil 2B
Alonso 1B
Conforto RF
Springer CF
Smith DH
Realmuto C
Davis 3B
Rosario or Gimenez SS

Vastly better on defense, a lot more speed. Would be one of the top offenses in baseball.

But they can go in a lot of other directions too.

He is a perfect player to replace Cano and slid the 24 million to him.
It would fill a need at the top of the order and take a player from the Yankees.

Now that Steve Cohen is there the Mets are no longer the outhouse. You will find that out over the years.

Not really shocked. If we sign Bauer all he needs to do is be a 3rd starter. The Sox might overpay but it sounds like Springer is a Mets priority.

I think it is good for Syracuse to have teams nearby in Rochester and Buffalo. And to have the class AA team in Binghamton.

The Mets and the Nats are building a good rivalry. Hopefully it works its way down to AAA as well.

Love that move. We need a veteran starter to round out the rotation. They signed Drew Smyly also, but I'm more optimistic about what Morton can bring. Hopefully the both stay healthy and don't end up useless like Cole Hamels.

Washington could bounce back too. And I thought the Phillies were a little disappointing this year, but they could come around. Could be a tough division, but I think the Braves are in the driver’s seat.
