Cool to watch a potential HOF pitcher face a potential HOF catcher(Salvador Perez) with the #1 prospect in MLB behind the plate, regardless of any struggles today though.
Both catchers are from Venezuela too.
Later in the game Alvarez ripped a double down the left field line. He has a compact swing and appears to have an exceptionally quick bat.
He also threw a runner out trying to steal second. The guy had a huge lead but he threw from his knees and delivered a laser to get him.
I missed when Jake was throwing completely. The announcer said comparing his two Syracuse starts, he threw more types of pitches this time and even mixed in a curve or two.
By the end of tomorrow we should have a good idea how his body reacted and whether he is going to be able to make his next start for the NY Mets.
If they go with a six man rotation, they can give Max an extra day and Jake an extra 2 days before their next starts. Walker gets an extra day too.

I would go conservative with a six man rotation, at least for a bit. The trade deadline is, I believe, next Tuesday. A big consideration might be if the Mets are able to get some bullpen help between now and then.
