2022 Mets thread

What is the best ticket reselling app for Mets games? Stubhub? Something else?
StubHub is the only one that MLB will guarantee.
My buddy just got scammed out of a grand by Vivid seats.

The "keep the train moving" concept in baseball is like a football team without quick strike capability who has to score on 10 play drives, (We've had a few of those.) The problem is, nothing can go wrong in those ten plays, or the drive will stall or end. Trying to bunch singles and walks in baseball works if you avoid double plays, lineouts and strike outs with runners on third and one out. The lack of a second slugger, (like Conforto), behind Pete hurts us. And I think it hurts Pete. They can pitch around him and he has to try to get those singles he's mostly getting now. Something like having Canha hot right now doesn't change that.
Yep… Mets needed to get another slugger other teams are afraid of and bullpen help at the deadline. Failed at both… sorry but Voglebach doesn’t cut it. Where have you gone Dom Smith and JD Davis… it was their job to take.

Maybe they move Marte behind Pete and shift everyone else up one? But Marte is on fire and you don’t want to mess with that.

The Rockies gave up 16 runs to the Rangers today. If our hitters don’t find their rhythm this weekend, I’ll be disappointed.

Well, the Pirates tried real hard to win one for the Mets but came up just a bit short.

The Braves are now 50-14 since June 1st against teams other than the Mets. That's .781.

THE POLAR BEAR ROARS! (Do polar bears roar?)

That one had "we're gonna lose this" written all over it. Braves are 5-1 on the used-to-be-red-hot-until-they-played-the-Braves Cardinals.

I think polar bears are more Chewbacca than Mufasa.

The way the Braves are playing right now the Mets need more than series wins. Might need to be 45 wins over .500 to hold off Atlanta.

Braves are having a run similar to the one they had back in June when they won like 14 in a row. Law of averages would suggest they have to cool off at some point. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later.

Mets can slip up with a lot of bottom feeders coming up. Also can't afford dropping two to the Dodgers either.

Mets have done everything they could have to hold the lead, they beat atlanta h2h as well. they have the 2nd best record in the MLB.. if 100 wins isn gonna get it done, it is what it is.

The were gonna have to beat 2 of the braves/cards/dodgers pretty much all year anyway to win the NL. nothing has changed except where they might play them if they finish 2nd.

If they win the division, they would only have to go through one of the Braves or Dodgers. If they finish second, they will most likely have to face them both plus a third team to get to the World Series. I agree with you that the Mets have done all they can so far but really want that division title.

if they win the NLE.

the mets get a bye and probably play STL then atl/dod winner

if the mets come in 4th they play dodgers and atl/stl winner

the difference of course they have to survive the WC rd.

STL is playing really well now too. Maybe they could beat ATL once this weekend and help the mets out.

I am happy to get a win. Feel like we didn’t really deserve it and were very fortunate to get it.

Lack of depth with relief pitching continues to be the big weakness. Givens has been very bad since he came here. He was throwing his fastball 97 last night but when he struggles with control, his lack of elite stuff hurts him.

Buck is carrying 3 catchers right now. None can hurt. Would rather have another relief pitcher. Maybe the okayed available are so crappy Buck would rather pitch hit his catchers a lot?

Good to see Pete finally hitting the ball hard again.

Baty got another finger and made a couple nice defensive plays. Nice.

McCann had 2 hits!

McNeil remains hot and has his BA up to .322. He is third in the league in hitting and he has a legit chance to finish first. Wonder if he will continue to hit with a gap between his hands after his thumb is fully healed?

Peterson today, Scherzer tomorrow, Monday off and then the Dodgers. Have David is sharp today.

Maybe the other finger will help Baty bat. And catchers hurt all the time. (Couldn't resist).

If it was good enough for Ty Cobb, it's good enough for Jeff McNeil...

Willie should have gotten a new nickname somewhere along the way. He said "Say, hey!" as a nervous rookie because he didn't know anyone's name. Why should that define him?

Gary Cohen said that the Mets have been out-homered on the year and yet have the highest winning percentage by a team that was out-homered since the 1942 Dodgers.

Cardinals finally did their part at home tonight vs the Braves.
Braves got lucky Arenado was on paternity leave last night. Wow talk about a feeling of inevitability once the batter doubled ahead of Goldschmidt and Arenado.

If only the Cardinals can do that again tomorrow so we can still be in first place after the Dodgers series. Braves next three opponents are the Rockies, Marlins and A’s. I know our schedules overall are similar but it always feels like every 17 out of 20 games is cupcake city for the Braves.

This Rockies series is a tad concerning. Not getting much offense against one of worst pitching staffs in the league statistically ( despite playing at Coors their away ERA is worse than home).

They said Marquez is most vulnerable early in the count but the Mets mode is to make him throw pitches. This might have been a game to go after the first pitch.

The Rangers put up 16 against them the other day. Putting up 0 is pathetic. Dreading this Dodgers series.

Well if they want to prove they can be a legit contender..winning a series vs LA at home is a good start.
