2023-2024 schedule release 8 PM tonight

LSU turned over much of their roster from last year but considering how bad they were it's probably not the worst thing. I think I'd rather us draw a better team from an SOS perspective, but if we're as good as we're hoping this season our SOS won't be a big deal.

We aren't going to have an issue with SOS this year lol.

I am torn on this. It is great to be part of the challenge and have a new and fun opponent on the home schedule.

But this is stacking up as one of our toughest OOC schedules in a long time.

Really wish we at least had plans to have the team play overseas during the summer to help give everyone a chance to get to know each other and develop roles and chemistry.

It is a hell of a way for Red to start his head coaching career.

Yeah really thankful for Judah coming back even more now. On the flip side we will have many opportunities to shine or clear off any struggles with this schedule as well... so it works both ways. Good thing Red aims to play a lot of guys. Also glad we got to host this one too.

I personally prefer to play as many quality teams as possible so give us them all. We’ve seen time and time again in recent history losses don’t matter as much as they used to to the committee if they arent bad resume losses.

Yeah, I'm torn too Tom. I don't mind a schedule that tests us for the purposes of RPI. However, there will be a lot of new faces, a new coach, a new defensive and probably offense system, and chemistry that needs to be built. Even for the returning guys, it will be like a whole new program. Red will also need to develop his rotation, at least to the point where we can hit the ground running.

This would have really been the year for an overseas trip to work all of that out.

Are we not allowed any secret scrimmages given we have two exhibition games already scheduled? Just wondering if say we could setup a couple games extra given the lack of the summer trip?

I believe that's correct - each team is permitted 2 exhibitions or 2 scrimmages or 1 of each. Cannot exceed 2 though.

Was there a specific reason Israel was selected for the foreign trip location? I realize this is hindsight, but no one could have foreseen safety concerns? What the hell was wrong with Spain, France, Italy, or freaking Canada.

I don't mind Autry postponing a trip abroad. Those are fun and involve lots of sightseeing and more team bonding.

Keeping the guys focused and together in Cuse is probably better for the season. Next summer I bet they'll be abroad.

What you say may be true. But, it allows a lot of extra practices; which for a team with a new offense, defense, and players, is the crucial point.

Harder schedule the better. I would rather have more opportunities for Quad 1/2 wins than less.

This isn’t college football where you can play a hodge podge of cream puffs and stumble your way to a bowl game. The committee rewards hard schedules.

They could return everyone’s next year, may be better to wait a year when we could be contenders.

Yep, win a few and don’t lose dumb games like Colgate, Bryant etc and all is good

Boeheim's Army.

Maybe they can play some pick-up games around 'Cuse against the new D1 team in East Syracuse...
