So with the stabilization of the wrist earlier (which some said was unusual) and the soft cast on wrist (not elbow) his surgery appears to be wrist related not elbow related??
It’s a response to defenses using the sideline as an extra defender and trying to take advantage of the margins of space still given. When did the toe drag become a thing.. I know its the thing now and has been for awhile.. But when did it replace actually just catching the ball and going to the ground? Did someone decide it was easier or more efficient vs the way guys caught the ball 30-40 yrs ago?
Go to ground how? You can’t go to ground if you’re running at full speed or catching a ball that is a foot out of bounds.I always thought it was easier to catch going to the ground than to toe drag on the sidelines. But they teach it now so just wondered why?
Good explanationIt’s a response to defenses using the sideline as an extra defender and trying to take advantage of the margins of space still given.
isnt that what diving is for? I always felt toe drag was awkward and slowed you down.Go to ground how? You can’t go to ground if you’re running at full speed or catching a ball that is a foot out of bounds.
The toe drag is practiced so guys instinctively get a foot down inbounds when making a sideline catch.isnt that what diving is for? I always felt toe drag was awkward and slowed you down.
I suspect Brown is probably a year away (kind of like Hatcher last season, where we saw some really exciting moments), and Hatcher starts becoming a consistent performer.Hatcher and Brown looking good.
It builds muscle memory. Toe drag is needed when your momentum is taking you out of bounds and the ball is thrown outside the sideline high and away from the defenderI know thats why I asked why they changed to using that method? The advantage is that you stay on your feet but they must think it provides some other advantage to teach it on the sidelines that way.
Body control. If you dive, you can’t adjust in flight.I know thats why I asked why they changed to using that method? The advantage is that you stay on your feet but they must think it provides some other advantage to teach it on the sidelines that way.
Well, not with that attitude you can't.Body control. If you dive, you can’t adjust in flight.
Yeah Im not suprised those two are looking good during 1v1's, Both are fast wr's but need to improve in the physical aspects of the game.I suspect Brown is probably a year away (kind of like Hatcher last season, where we saw some really exciting moments), and Hatcher starts becoming a consistent performer.
Makes sense. It seems like every year in camp we hear of some names that stand out and they don't play much other than mop up time in season.Yeah Im not suprised those two are looking good during 1v1's, Both are fast wr's but need to improve in the physical aspects of the game.
You means players sometimes need time to develop!?!?Makes sense. It seems like every year in camp we hear of some names that stand out and they don't play much other than mop up time in season.
Usually they become big performers eventually but I always figured they had dominant athletic gifts in some regards, but needed to catch up in others or needed to be coached up on more technical points of their position.
I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out.You means players sometimes need time to develop!?!?
Yes. Maybe one or both of them make the jump this season.Makes sense. It seems like every year in camp we hear of some names that stand out and they don't play much other than mop up time in season.

I remember Brown was such a random commit when he first joined. Strange offers but he looks like he's progressing well.Yes. Maybe one or both of them make the jump this season.
