2024 bowl projections thread

I'm surprised that a week after the BC loss there aren't more Fenway, Pinstripe projections. I thought the BC loss would have doomed us.

If we don’t win at least 8 games, one of those is our likely destination

They are projections that rarely happen.

It is what it is. And, and guess what, just like the REFs (keep it up north, rule against, bogus calls, make it up later) AND, the (South can do no wrong). It will be a Pinstripe, or Fenway as that is how you keep the ACC people inline from the NCAA to keep others happy.

Hard to say because so many teams in the ACC are going to be bowl eligible and the Pinstripe bowl, besides our fan bases own disdain on it, is actually a higher tier bowl than you would think for the ACC

Has one of the higher payouts as well for bowl games.

True but fans don't care. I have been to two. One was so cold I spent the game in the concourse. That may work for Bill's fans but not so much for geezers like me.

Several bowls exist that I’m surprised we haven’t gone to in recent years due to repeat pinstripes, and being moved to non ACC bowls like Boca and Texas Bowl. I think 8-4 SU probably makes Mayo in Charlotte or Sun in El Paso. Mayo has so many teams within 3 hours of Charlotte they usually pick one of those. The Sun bowl has taken Pitt and BC recently and isn’t located in ACC country so it’s a good match for SU. Sun has lots of history, CBS Tv deal and a decent opponent.

Agreed, but it’s a brand name and a winnable game. I think our offense would be a factor to help sell us for sun or holiday.

I’m sure that their wish, but they’ve taken 8-4 teams the last few years. Guess it all depends how everything shakes out
