Didn't we already have someone portal that will still be playing in the bowl game?
So you're saying Deuce will be let loose in San Diego??
Didn't we already have someone portal that will still be playing in the bowl game?
Maybe your premise is wrong.
No issue with people being disappointed, but some of this crap... is ... amazing!I wouldn't knock fans for being disappointed. Right now, hard core fans I know think A LOT of SU football. Nothing wrong with that. It comes from confidence and belief in what's happening on the Hill. People just want a bowl game to match that.
I’ve noticed that.Maybe. Sometimes I just say things.
I’ve noticed that.
The contract was for the ACC and PAC 12 to supply the teams. When the PAC 12 split up, the contract continued to extend to the teams in the PAC 12 when it broke up.As was posted above, the dumb tie in with PAC 2 for a bowl like this is so stupid and what hurts at the end of the day. No way the PAC 2 should have had a potential tie in with this bowl. It’s an excellent bowl and we deserve that, Washington State does not
I am flat out upset because I wanted to go to a Florida bowl game , preferably the Gator as I would have no problem getting time off and affording the airfare.
We have had precious little opportunities to go to a good bowl in 20 plus years.
I feel like I have been waiting forever to get a January bowl experience.
It just feels like Duke and the ACC just pissed on us SU fans once again.
To have a great win against Miami, to finish 9-3 and be given a team that didn’t get a single vote in the latest poll and who lost their last three games to teams with losing records, it just flat out feels we have been slapped in the face.
Just my thoughts.
Do we even know Fran would play him over Johnson? We’re all assuming.that’s the best part of this game, McCord opting out and getting a look at Jakari Williams.
I'm not following the logic.I am flat out upset because I wanted to go to a Florida bowl game , preferably the Gator as I would have no problem getting time off and affording the airfare.

I’d hate to read your dissertation if you did have an issueNo issue with people being disappointed, but some of this crap... is ... amazing!
I get that people wanted to go to FL and are disappointed. I honestly do.I’d hate to see your dissertation if you did have an issue
Absolutely fair. The average fan just wanted a marquee match-up. Nothing to do with the city, etc. wazzou is a dud.I get that people wanted to go to FL and are disappointed. I honestly do.
Blaming Wildhack and ranting about how SU got screwed does not follow.
The school will need the extra $1M just for travel expenses.Yep. Again, complain about the opponent that is fine but this whiny BS about the Holiday Bowl being low rent is a load of crap
By being put in a bowl with Washington State who frankly is only here because they are the only survivor of their busted league who is bowl eligibleI'm not following the logic.
I get that you've wanted to attend a good bowl in FL for years.
I get that your aim has been thwarted, and that stinks.
What I don't get is how that equates to Syracuse University football being screwed
yeah, no... Washington State sucks and playing the sucks. There isnt a chance in hell kyle plays this bowl game. This is the definition of a useless exhibition. Maybe if they had actually beaten someone of note Kyle would be given the chance to prove something but when your best win is a pretty average texas tech team, i dont think the scouts watch that game and say "wow kyle sure is impressive."No issue with people being disappointed, but some of this crap... is ... amazing!
The Holiday Bowl has a reputation for fun, high-scoring games. Like a 50 year+ reputation.
It is historically a more prestigious bowl than the Gator. Times may have changed, but that is the general national perception. (evidenced by the fact that it pays more)
People saying 'it's the opponent, it's the opponent', I doubt they'd want to play Michigan at Fenway or Yankee Stadium if that was our option.
The idea that Wildhack had any control over this process, and should be criticized, is ridiculous.
That Kyle and the other potential pro Sr.s would rather play in a physical tussle vs. FL than in another Holiday Bowl shootout - why would that be? What would be the better exhibition of his arm?
This bowl game (outside of the playoffs) is an exhibition game, the start of practice for next season, and an end-of-season reward for the players. I can think of no better place to accomplish these things - regardless of opponent.
Finally - as people have said.. anyone care to make a wager as to whether the Holiday or Gator gets better viewership #'s? If the Gator is SO much more prestigious - why would this be?
Are you talking about a different Kyle than McCord? We didn't play Texas Tech, our best win was Miami, and then UNLV.yeah, no... Washington State sucks and playing the sucks. I don’t think anyone is saying that. I think people are just disappointed that SU seems to get the short (dirty) end of the stick from the ACC every time. Give people a chance to express that fir a day or so, and then it will be full steam ahead again.

I missed the Texas Tech game this fall , I’m getting old , I forgot an entire Saturday! Are you talking about a different Kyle than McCord? We didn't play Texas Tech, our best win was Miami, and then UNLV.
He’s rambling, but it was Washington St that beat Texas Tech. Are you talking about a different Kyle than McCord? We didn't play Texas Tech, our best win was Miami, and then UNLV.
No, WSU’s best win is Texas TechAre you talking about a different Kyle than McCord? We didn't play Texas Tech, our best win was Miami, and then UNLV.
Well said!No issue with people being disappointed, but some of this crap... is ... amazing!
