2024 Holiday Bowl- Syracuse vs. Washington State December 27th, 8pm ET

Absolutely. Everyone wants them to play but in the end it rarely happens. And “think” they all are playing as opposed to definitely all are playing are two different things
Well if any of these guys has an nil contract, one would think that playing in any bowl would be part of that contract, but I can not say that for a fact. I know that I would include that in any deal I would make with any player, I would hope that those in charge of such deals would think the same way.

ANNNNND... this is a great time to reiterate:

NIL CANNOT BE "pay for play".

It is only for Name, Image, Likeness.

wink wink, nudge, nudge, say no more!

Just because we all know that it is, in reality, exactly that -
does NOT mean it can be written into contracts, since that would then be "saying the quiet part out loud".

No reason a name image and likeness contract could not include a monetary penalty for failure to appear in a bowl game with the team. Now no one could force a player to play in any game including a bowl, but it certainly could be part of said contract.

Okay, Do you really think these name image and likeness contracts do not stipulate playing for the team sponsored? If the player fails to play for that team(other than due to medical exemption}, do they still get paid? No. Not that out there to include any bowl appearance in the makeup of a contract.

There is a reason not to include a monetary penalty for failing to appear in a bowl game, and no, it certainly can't be a part of said contract.

I know you were all wondering, so here’s the big news: the game will be officiated by a B1G crew.

Explain why it can not.

No.

It was directly explained to you by Comstock and you completely disregarded it.

You're wrong. Either your information is bad or the conclusion you're reaching is bad due to some faulty logic. This is where you are. I feel no choice but to be as honest and as clear about this as humanly possible. What you are describing as part of NIL agreements is specifically prohibited under the way it currently operates.

Nothing better than when a poster demands you write them an explanation in length (after it's already been explained) and then you tell them no. Sorry, not taking homework assignments today!

So you have no reason for this belief, Okay then. Comstock also gave no reason for his belief either.

Really?
I do not really care, no money of mine will ever be involved. It seems to me to be stupid to give money to someone if they have no obligation to play for that team through the end of their career to get that money. That is all.

But you do understand, after considerable effort to explain, that NIL cannot be tied to a school or be tied to performance at all. The players are aware of what is expected for money in exchange for their name, image and likeness, but there is no legal tie to school or performance. So technically, a kid could take the money and run.

Exactly why it is stupid to put money into such an nil deal if you are correct.
Might as well just throw it away. Some may desire to do that. Never for me. I believe in getting value for my money, so no guarantee of play no dinero toward nil.
Not to worry though they could never buy a player from my giving.

Would you agree that people have done dumber things with their money?
