2024 Holiday Bowl- Syracuse vs. Washington State December 27th, 8pm ET

Started a who is coming under Tailgating, ticket and get together section. I also added other events tied to the Holiday Bowl. Bowl bash party, parade, and 5K.

I wanted the Gator Bowl. I was bummed at first for the Holiday (relatively, like most people).

But I also said 8 wins this year would be a really good year and 9 would be a great year.

We are 9-3 and that win over Miami I’ll be talking about forever.

I do think Fox will have some really complimentary packages of this team for the broadcast.

Let’s see some young guys that want to step up if people opt out. This is a very good bowl game. To me, this is the sneak peek at a bit of the 2025 season more than anything before we get our portal guys in.

You think we would have played Ole Miss close?

I don't and think we got saved from getting blown out. With Tennessee looming and the beating we took vs USF last year its for the best.

We might be able to run it up on WSU's backups with our backups or Kyle. I just want the 10th win. Let some of the young skill position guys get some touches noones red shirt is effected.

Both West Coast games were well attended by our fans. We play in Florida next year.

Not only close but we would win.

I guess I’m not following why it’s bad to have a third “west coast” game because west coast donors may be tapped out, when our east coast donors have had 10 games in this time zone already?

Maybe I’m not in touch, but it just seems strange to me. Why do we need to hit people up at a bowl game? There’s dozens of other times during a year SU can hit up potential donors. Like there would have been a massive haul if we played in Charlotte or El Paso?
0 in Florida

Yes I think we have a greater chance of losing/getting blown out because I truly believe that McCord, OG, Wax, Barron, Diggs, lequint, Meeks all would’ve played had it been a Colorado, South Carolina, or Michigan. I think the general vibe of disinterest from fans now combined with looming opt outs will give Washington state the locker room material and motivation they need, similar to what USF had last year

The Wazzu coach said he expected to lose 15-20 players when the portal opens and is trying to hang onto their starting QB, so we won't be the only team impacted.

Here are some random raw thoughts..

1) We got screwed, we deserve to be in the Gator over Duke.

2) I hope Duke gets blown out.

3) Kyle probably would have played against Ole Miss in the Gator. "Have to see where it is and who it's against".

4) I'm content with Miami still being his last game though. That game was legendary and I was blessed to be there for it.

5) Holiday Bowl is a great bowl, we were gonna get one of the big ACC three either way.

6) A shot at 10 wins and like every bowl this game counts.

7) Bama is in.. what a joke.

#7 ?
#3 - Kyle is not playing no matter the game. He is just saying the right things publicly

That's your hypothesis. I'm taking the man at his word.
All he said was that it depends on the opponent and circumstances. There’s lots of wiggle room there. This is not a hypothesis

Holiday used to be a great Bowl. Would open up the Bowl season with some crazy high scoring game.

Weird that the ACC is sending a team there. I feel like it should be a B12 or B1G team. Someone like BYU, Iowa, or Nebraska.

Um, well what else would have been higher than Gator against a likely ranked SEC team?

You realize that this will be the most watched game for us this year right? Even higher than Miami (2.1m).

may have been discussed already

When would the team head out? The game is on a pretty inconvenient date with christmas being 2 days prior. Do they leave before xmas? On the 26th?

Just crap that keeps me up at night. Also tough for fans to travel as well around the holidays.

How do Orange fans feel about San Diego? (I've lived there - it's a nice place!).
How do you feel about playing your bowl at 8 pm on a Friday night?

Fran's pretty good at going west and winning.

We can play in any time zone. If I'm above ground and lucky enough to be thinking about this season 20 years from now, the 3 wins out west* might be a Top 3 memory after Fran's first season and Kyle. The Miami game and Pena becoming such stud might be my fourth and fifth favorite memories from the year.

Great warm weather destination.

I will likely be skiing in VT that day, have dinner and then watch the game. Perfect. Don't care about the other games.

I think San Diego or any warm weather spot is the key for the players in terms of the bowl. For me none of these bowls matter as rosters are depleted (and I think ours would have been no matter the opponent). Take the SWAG, the extra practices and opportunity to see your depth. Our bowl game was Miami and it was as good as it gets.

This was posted 45 min ago...what happened???

The Gator was distinctly in play, but the opponent mostly likely needed to be UF.

And when Bama did not make the CFP, that put an extra marquis team in the hopper (along with South Carolina and Ole Miss) for the SEC's upper crust bowls, which are the (in no order) the Gator/Taxslayer, (old) Citrus/Cheese Its and (old) Outback/Reliaquest. That made is "impossible" for the Gator to take Syracuse, as UF only had 7 wins.

My conspiracy theory is that once Ole Miss was assigned to the Jacksonville, the SEC also asked the Gator to match them with Duke, so that the Lane Train would not be made to look stupid after he made all of those "the ACC is weak" comments in the last 10 days.

And so we head to San Diego. Solid little consolation prize.

What good does that do for us if we don’t show out? You realize if we have opt outs and look disinterested / get beat up like we did last season in front of millions of people that has the opposite effect?
