2024 Holiday Bowl- Syracuse vs. Washington State December 27th, 8pm ET

Makes sense.
The Fenway Bowl at 11am on Saturday, December 28th and the Pinstripe Bowl at noon on the 28th are lousy times for football.
And the following week there are games on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday in the early afternoon. There are a lot of people that still have to work those days. I think it was last year or the year before I had to dvr our game.

I'm happy for the team. I saw 3 games this fall that were better bowl games than I've seen in 20 years (besides Dungey's Camping World).

Being in Vegas was a better bowl game location than any of these places anyway.

Take the money and incentives and bonuses we get and put it to good use. The Holiday pays more as I understand it and we should cruise to a 10 win season with or without or big names.

People that wanted to go to one more game in Florida and aren't now. Go book your flight to Atlanta now for the opener with Tennessee!
Good points. Atlanta in September isn't Florida or San Diego in December though.

I have 2 hotels booked, but will see what the University offers. I sort of want to sit in the club seats. I don't know if they will have that option. Seems like corner sections are empty and waiting for the schools.

How would we do against them without McCord?
Maybe not good but this ain’t your Daddy’s Alabama and they will probably have many opt outs.I think McCord might even have played if it was a matchup with Bama.He might still play against WASU but I wouldn’t think so.

Apparently we're trying to compare records where we point out only the games that strengthen our argument. Alabama had some head scratching losses, but they also beat Georgia and South Carolina. We had losses that were probably worse than theirs while beating Miami along with some other decent teams. If we objectively look at their wins and losses compared to ours they're likely better, but on any given Saturday...
I don't know if anyone here thinks or said that we were better than Alabama. That would be crazy. I would just rather see us play them rather than Washington st.

FYI - there is a direct Alaska Air flight from FLL (south florida old people like me) to SAN (San Diego).

Once I know for sure when we are back home on the 26th I’d love to setup a meetup that night if people are interested. Lots of incredible breweries including Gravity Heights which isn’t far from the stadium.
I can't make it, but a bar might be willing to share some profits if you can guarantee them a crowd. Create a SyracuseFan.com NIL fundraiser.

A non-playoff bowl game for Bama is a glorified scrimmage for them. At least WSU will have some some motivation to play and should make for a better atmosphere.

I was actually thinking that but my friends brewery sadly had to shutter their doors last week.

But I’ll do what I can.

I'm more worried about us than them. The name Alabama is still on their uniforms

I like the bowl, but can guarantee my SIL will schedule a family night out for my niece’s birthday (12/31) that includes dinner and some activity that goes until 10:30 or 11:00. Every year she picks the worst possible night for me, FML.

Seeing Williams would have course be ideal… but I’d anticipate them rewarding Johnson with playing time for his services too if McCord & the boys decide to sit.

Holiday Bowl is a very solid bowl game. Long history. Great location. Nice weather. Friday night game in prime time just a couple of days after Xmas. Very nice reward for the team.
It was a solid bowl when it had a real conference tie in. This year it was the farthest thing from an attractive bowl game. I know there are contracts, but how is the Pac 12 still a thing where they can get 1 of their 2 teams in?

It’s still a solid bowl game, people are just pissed it’s in the west coast. Washington st has been a decent program for a number of years and somehow Syracuse fans think they’re not worthy, that’s funny. People need to move on and take it for what it is. People blaming wildhack is too funny. How do you know Syracuse isn’t right where they wanted to be?

Agreed, nobody is saying it's a bad bowl. But playing a nationally irrelevant team is what kills it for me. Nobody cares about a team that doesn't even have a conference and played a Mountain West schedule. Hopefully Jakhari starts so we can see what he's got, thats the only thing I'm excited for
