2024 Holiday Bowl- Syracuse vs. Washington State December 27th, 8pm ET

It’s still a solid bowl game, people are just pissed it’s in the west coast. Washington st has been a decent program for a number of years and somehow Syracuse fans think they’re not worthy, that’s funny. People need to move on and take it for what it is. People blaming wildhack is too funny. How do you know Syracuse isn’t right where they wanted to be?
if we're right where we wanted to be we have a problem

Tell me your just as excited to play Washington St as it would have been to play Ole Miss.

I don’t think that there is any chance that McCord or many of the other players on either team with NFL aspirations play in the game. According to a Washington state fan site the playing surface at snapdragon stadium is borderline dangerous( WSU played San Diego State there earlier in the year). Hellacious, was another adjective used to describe the surface.

We’ve beat teams that would/could beat Bama. This is a new dawn for Syracuse football, it is time to lose that mentality. I can’t wait until Fran has us in the CFP, it’s going to happen.
For many of us who have been around for a while, it’s the mentality of the last twenty years that is the “new” mentality. I always expect SU to be competitive with anyone.

No arguments here but if its going to happen to us, at least its San Diego.

I think I can speak for most people when I say location isn’t the complaint, its just hard justifying paying a couple grand to see our backup vs wsu
Yep. SanDiego is beautiful and a great visit. Again a great trip and experience for our players. Great trip if you never have been there. That said. Timing for last week of December is bad for many. Price for that trip will be tough for some. Price for some knowing starters are in key areas also not playing also tough.

It’s going to be a very fun trip for the people who matter: the players, coaching staff, and support staff.

Bowls are nothing more than glorified exhibitions largely featuring underclassmen. I highly doubt any of our departing players were going to suit up regardless of bowl or opponent. None of them need tape, and it’d be devastating if any of them got hurt.

All the wailing and gnashing of teeth is silly.

Meh… ole Miss has a bunch of hired guns that will all opt out. Their qb most likely will as well. MCCord was never playing in the bowl game either. I just think people are making a big deal about dumb things. Wildhack, the opponent, the bowl.

Look, I dont care about bowl games at this point other than the ones involved in the 12 team playoff they just don’t mean anything anymore. Fans need to adjust in my opinion.

Too much drama about a 9-3 season, and a decent bowl game

Sagarin has Syracuse -5 over Wash St. on a neutral. But that’s all moot I guess because both teams will have opt outs. Interesting number at full strength though.

Agreed none of them were going to play. Talk about a false narrative with people posting about this opponent and this bowl vs another as if they were going to play in one bowl over another

Also, everyone should take a look over the bowl schedule. For the most part, these games stink. Mediocre locations, expensive travel days, boring opponents.

You’d rather be playing Minnesota in Charlotte 2 days after New Years? Washington in El Paso on New Years Eve day? East Carolina in Annapolis?

We’re also playing on FOX broadcast in prime time. That’ll be a 3 hour informercial about how SU football is back, viewed by I’m guessing 10+ million people.

We got screwed by the Alamo Bowl. The PAC 12 tie in blew up in our face because we got WSU. Colorado would have been a great opponent, they would have filled the tie in just fine. I think WSU and Oregon State(if they had been eligible) were given mercy tie-ins because of what happened to them. No way WSU should have gotten placed in this game, it is a prestigious Primetime Fox game, huge payout, history of big teams in it. Just need to make the best of this, get win 10, recruits don’t care about the details, 10 wins sells and we have the best salesman in the country

If anyone has questions on areas to stay in, things to do, eat, drink whatever feel free to send them over. If I don’t know, one of my closest friends ran a food/drink podcast here for a decade and is fully dialed in.
Yeah, there's no shortage of fun things to do and good things to eat.

One thing I appreciate about San Diego is you don't need to think a whole lot. If you see a taco shop, you're not going to regret eating there. If you see a beach, you're not going to regret hanging out a little and walking the boardwalk. If you go by anything that looks fun, guess what, do the thing and you'll have fun.

San Diego's easy, just like a former poster's mom.

Exactly. Gator maybe has some better things going but Thursday the day after New Years kind've sucks.

Hotel recommendations? things to do with kids?

WSU projects to be gutted by opt outs and portals.
Yeah but have a feeling we will be too. It’s an important game for us. We win and get 10 wins, we are ranked next year going into Tennessee and that is Gameday. We get our D handed to us like last year and we ain’t and continuing to fight this up hill battle to be in the top25.
