Pretty clear tampering here, he’ll be at a new school by MondayHis new name should be Primo "Portal" Spears.

That’s fine, but aim higher. After watching McLeod try to play basketball I just want somebody who can chew gum and walk at the same time
As a person that almost fully subscribes to that saying, the scenario you mentioned absolutely does bottle the mind.So I have heard the saying never trust a man with two first names but what are the rules of engagement when those two first names are the same and has Federiko Federiko ever thought about taking the Star Soccer player naming convention and just go by Federiko!?
I always check that program's fan board if I'm unsure. https://pittsburgh.forums./threads/fede-to-the-portal.233944/ They aren't exactly sad he's leaving...pass
I'd like this
We could use a blocker.
JB didn't shoot down JJ. We really wanted him. But as happened a lot at the end of JB's days. Brey and his staff out worked us for him. The entire staff showed up to a practice that JJ was having.Outside of straight $$$ and tampering, some of it has to do coaching changes. For example, it's glaringly obvious that Red really wanted JJ out of HS but was shot down by JB. So JJ went to Notre Dame where he had a good relationship with Mike Brey, who then got retired mid-season --> JJ goes in the portal --> Red becomes SU HC --> JJ is an orange(man). We had previously recruited JJ, but it was nothing that JJ was responsible for, it was all coaches and ADs.
Other guys get recruited by a coach, coach gets fired, they're gone. Player was lightly recruited out of HS, goes to a low level D1, blows up and can now get paid, he's going to do so. Sometimes, schemes change and certain players are staring at a lower minute total and want more. How about a player who goes to a school, gets injured, and then gets recruited over? Nothing he's at fault for. Or a highly ranked player goes to a Duke/KU/UK school, gets buried on the depth chart by a bunch of other highly ranked guys. And 6 more highly ranked guys are coming in the next year.
There are a lot of reasons players going into the portal could be highly valued by other schools. In pro baseball, the minors of all teams are scoured by scouts and they're just looking for a diamond in the rough. But they don't always look for statisical success, but for elite tools that are underutilized or not even aware of it that an acquiring team could coach up or develop. I don't think it's 100% or 0%, but I'd wager that there are some college teams scouting the lower ranks with some crazy advanced metrics for guys who might have otherwise been invisible to scouts and could be developed into a weapon.
Agreed good stuffRyanCuse44 thank u for doing the lord’s work in this thread
Thanks brother, least I could do with all the little nuggets you put on the b-ball and football side.RyanCuse44 thank u for doing the lord’s work in this thread
Surprise? I’m shocked every player wouldn’t check their value.Giddy-up according to Trilly -

Wow Kadary is having a very nice game today. Running the offense, tough D and rebounding
11 rebounds at the half. He had more rebounds with 4 minutes left in the first than Bell, JJ, and Judah in a single game all season.Wow Kadary is having a very nice game today. Running the offense, tough D and rebounding
Would he come back?
I thought JJ hated Dior so he eliminated us?JB didn't shoot down JJ. We really wanted him. But as happened a lot at the end of JB's days. Brey and his staff out worked us for him. The entire staff showed up to a practice that JJ was having.
I think Dior was long gone when Starling signed with ND. I could be wrong.I thought JJ hated Dior so he eliminated us?
It’s hard to believe the coach watched this team play and would think it was smart to run it back. Something needs to change and fast.I don’t see us reaching out to anyone barely. Let’s hope this changes.
He never looks to be playing hard. Kind of maddening but very efficient. Pass first but still leads them in scoring on season. I’m sure he’s happy he made the right choice11 rebounds at the half. He had more rebounds with 4 minutes left in the first than Bell, JJ, and Judah in a single game all season.
I dig Dug
He really doesn’t, but I don’t think it’s a negative. I think it enables him to change speeds on both ends of the floor even better. Incredible skill. He never looks to be playing hard. Kind of maddening but very efficient. Pass first but still leads them in scoring on season. I’m sure he’s happy he made the right choice
He had some academic issues this year, probably don’t want a point guard from a single digit win team either.I dig Dug
Is your take really that Red is running it back and that nothing is changing? It’s hard to believe the coach watched this team play and would think it was smart to run it back. Something needs to change and fast.
