If only we had an elite recruiter who could go after a QB in the southeast that was once committed to us….Presumably, his path to starting at SC next year might be impacted by this potential transfer -

SC needs to get an OL or he'll take the same abuse Spencer Rattler took the last two years.

Any thoughts on Jayden DeLaura? Good QB with 1 year of eligibility left. Will almost assuredly be entering the portal given how Soph Noah Fifita has taken the job and run with it.

I know I have never ever successfully guessed on what recruits to bring into the portal versus enjoying the surprise of getting the likes of who we got.

Basketball is easier. Football is a crapshoot and the portal will be overflowing this year.

There's dozens of good QBs in the portal. Staff will find someone.
Nebraska HC Matt Rhule on transfer portal QBs today:

"Make no mistake: a good quarterback in the portal costs $1 million to $1.5 million to $2 million right now. So just so we’re on the same page, right? Let’s make sure we all understand what’s happening. There are some teams that have $6-7 million players playing for them.”

I wonder how much Pitt paid to reunite Jurkovec with Frank Cignetti.

Jurkovec was benched after 5 games and Cignetti was just fired. Good times.

I don't believe that's entirely true.

Rhule has been doing a whole lot of pontificating for a guy who went 5-7

If Marlowe doesn't return that frees up like $400k right there.

I liked him when I saw him play last year. He might be a tough get. I dont mind them going after the Slufka kid. He's from NY. With that said, there will be more options

IMO there's only like 16-20 schools who actually have the resources/boosters like this.

Remember these numbers are all over inflated tooo

There’s no one accounting for the money and the money is dealt individually to the player so it’s not verifiable by the school.

Anyone can make up a number of what they are being paid.

The ones that are getting paid the most are the ones that have national brands to their names. Not necessarily because they are that school.

I feel sorry for these kids because I am sure 99% of them have received zero tax planning guidance. It’s been a couple of years since NIL was implemented, I bet 1-2 years from now we will start hearing cases of kids getting audited by the IRS and being accused of either not paying taxes at all or committing unintentional tax fraud because they were never provided proper guidance around planning.

Can we sneak one through self checkout?

Its verifiable by the amount given by collectives. This does NOT count any company deals, cars, etc...

Top 10 in the portal get about $500k
Top 25 in the portal get about $250K. Top 100 get about $100k.

All we need is $3-7M and we're going to be great in recruiting, and the portal.

College sports. Man.

Actually Nick this would be an excellent way for somebody to contribute to the NIL in a sense if they were a CPA or the like to help these athletes with financial guidance.

The overall rough estimate for what dollars are actually seen from what I've heard by actual journalists is around 40% of reported amounts.

I'm sure the very top guys recognize a higher %, but that's the % I've heard, overall.
