38 and done...

It's hard to compare with the talent disparity. Not saying JB and Syracuse doesn't get good players, but no one except maybe Duke gets the number of top players that Kentucky has every single year.

He gets more great players than we do, but I think people are selling his coaching abilities short.

The guy took Umass to the final four, Umass, what have they done since, and he should have won a national title at Memphis, what have they done since he left?

Agree. He gets great talent and can be a jerk but getting all those guys to play team ball and good defense isn't easy and 38-0 is 38-0. (So is 38-1.)

Not brought in paid for players.

He cheated at both tire fires...

Did anyone watch the post game press conference? A reporter was asking a question to Towns about Kaminsky and either Andrew Harrison or Cauley-Stein said " that N word" underneath their breath. I couldn't tell because both were covering their mouths with their hands. But I swear that was said

I think cal's heavy rotations actually cost him

Booker was having a great stretch and then he sat

I think booker and Ulis are better than tje Harrison's, although they actually
Played great tonight

The Harrisons played better, I thought anyway, in the first half than the second. Especially when in the late stages Kentucky begged for someone to step up and take charge and the call went unanswered.

The strategy is terrible. Cal should have ridden towns, booker and ulis. The subbing was moronic.

I agree, the announcers kept babbling about how UK's rotation would have them fresher at crunch time, but Wiscy seemed it had its best players on at the critical times and that carried the day for them. A good argument can be made that Ryan out-coached Cal that way.

It's like cal thinks you...my platoon system overcomes actual basketball ability. WCS, dakari, lyles, ak1 are just not very good

Booker couldn't guard anyone in the second half. He gave up back-to-back 3-point plays.

Because they kept switching screens which was the entire goal of the Wisconsin offense. I know Barkley gets a lot or smack for his college game analysis, but he was 100% spot on there.

If the world, and more importantly the recruits, saw Cal shorten the bench, they would realize there isn't playing time for 12 guys and they would decide it is better to go where a team needs them. He couldn't go with what was working or it would expose his BS.

If he was a good coach, he would have pounded the ball inside to Towns. Hard to stop him and it would have created fouls. That's what happens when you promise guys they will play if they go there. You have to honor your promise or the word gets out. The very thing that gets him all these players makes it hard to be the best they could be as a team. As others have noted: He is a great recruiter but not a great coach. He does get the players to buy into it, so he does have that going...

I can tell you what they HAVEN'T done....They have not had the #1 player in the draft play for them and cheat to get/keep him there...

Well here's the deal with the Harrisons - their reputation in AAU ball was terrible. They were considered ball hogs and bad teammates. Andrew Wiggins told everyone who was recruiting him that he would NEVER go to the same school as them. As soon as they committed to UK, UK had almost no shot at Wiggins and Wiggins lived up to his word.

Cal rolled the dice with those two. What we saw last night was that decision coming home to roost. The twins went into hero mode when nobody could stop UKs inside game. That's on the twins specifically, but Cal went down that road when he recruited them.

Then the lack if handshakes and press conference. Nobody in the college game is surprised by last nights behavior.

Recruiting and molding character matters.
