ACC, PAC-12, and BIG alliance / conference realignment

i am sure there is language in there where the ACC could 'breach' the contract if continuing to play ND was somehow a detriment to its members.

if its 8-1-1 or 9-1-1, playing ND no longer is a viable option and that contract should be null and void.

good luck.
You too.

If the Alliance happens, it is hard to imagine the UConn games being retained. I think SU will try hard to find a way to retain the Army games, but those will be a struggle as well.

I don't see SU forgoing the chance to play an FCS opponent each season. If you add a mandatory B1G and P12 game each season, Syracuse has 1 game a season to schedule out of conference. And ND is already booked as that team 3 times. There is almost no room for other opponents.

I think they can save the series against Army or UConn. Not both. My guess is they value the Army games more. But they might go for the sure wins instead. That would be a tough call.
I believe Edsall gets a bonus for any games with UConn that get canceled.

I dislike the ND deal. I have never been a hater of ND until the realignment. Now they are just wasting time which hurts a conference that partnered with them and allowed them to keep status quo. Landscape is changing unfortunately. As far as all the reason's that were stated for recruiting I call BS. It may have been that way up to the 2000's maybe. They have the foundation as a national team and joining a conference I doubt would hurt that. Ohio St, and Mich are in the same situation and recruit nationally. So spare me the recruiting justification. I do not think being critical of ND is too harsh at this point.

They are a parasite, using up what they can and moving to the next host when the previous one is dried up to keep life as they want it.

Perfect analogy!

Hey guys….

I’ll be the one to say it….

who’s excited for more of this?

At this time make sure your seat backs and food trays are in their full upright position and that your seatbelt is correctly fashioned.

We will be boldly going where no conferences have gone before...

ACC brings the beer.

BiG brings the potato salad.

P12 brings the cups and plates.

And they all say….. you SEC now you’ve screwed up. We’ll make our own league.

Word is that there won't be anything earth-shattering in this call, but more of a "we will be working together in the future for the betterment of college athletes, our conferences and universities". We'll see.

I'll be shocked if there's anything substantive from this dog & pony show.

ESPN isn’t going to give the ACC more money for nothing. These look-ins are nothing more than just selling points.
If ESPN was going to give more money they would want more content or more control over the schedule.
Look-ins are ESPN's duty to ensure the contract is in line with other conferences and based on many criteria (success,.viewership, markets, etc.). If ESPN fails the in the duty they may be sued. It is so n ESPN's self interest to keep the ACC at least content. Self dealing too much can be bad faith bargaining and can be far more costly.

erest to keep the ACC content, if not happy.

Their is no way the contract says keep the ACC in line with other conferences.
The SEC got paid because it’s content was desired in open bidding.

The ACC look-ins aren’t going to compensate them for other conferences value.
Espn will want consideration for more money.
