he just shook hands with Jeremy Maclin. Excuse me Mizzou but isn't that a recruiting no-n0??

Well Maclin was probably at Mizzou training a little early this year because his Eagles sucked nuts. Probably "ran" into him.

Depends on where and how he met him.

Mizzou was reportedly going all out to get top recruit Dorial Green-Beckham to commit. He also made his visit to Mizzou this weekend. "DGB" chants were expected during last night's game with Texas Tech.

According to reports:
Its rumored that current NFL players, such as Jeremy Maclin and Danario Alexander, will be in town for a “random appearance.”

Assuming that the recruits were at the game together and had some other joint activities then I would've expected Harold Brantley to have met Jeremy Maclin as well.

If a Syracuse recruit is on an official visit, he will likely attend the day's basketball game. If Donovan McNabb (or DC or Donovin Darius, etc.) happens to be at the hoops game then I'd expect the recruit to shake his hand too. It could also be expected that he'd run into him at Manley.

Doesn't sound like it's out of bounds. Now... if Maclin made an unannounced visit to Brantley's house, then that would be a different story.

Love that "random appearance". Just sounds a little murky when you read the rules...

Additional Regulations Related to Recruiting for Athletics Representatives

5) An unavoidable incidental contact made with a prospect by an athletics representative is permitted, provided:

a) the contact is not prearranged by the athletics representative or athletics department staff member;

b) the contact does not take place on the grounds of the prospect's educational institution or at practice or competition sites involving the prospect or his/her team;

c) the contact is not made for the purpose of recruitment of the prospect, and

d) the contact involves only normal civility.

Yeah, a and c definitely didn't happen.

These type rules are junk. Who is hurt in such contact during a recruiting visit? Nobody. Do it above board and cut out the stupid forced lies and fake unplanned contact. I am sure this has to be one of the top 10 broken rules and I have no problem with anyone breaking it. It is stupid. Have all the celebrities on campus for visits that you want. If your school doesn't have the big name celebrities then you better try harder in other areas but the schools should show them off like they do facilities, academics and whatever. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise that this is a stupid rule.

Who cares? Meeting a former player is the last thing that should be counted as a violation.

If so, we should get Mcnabb, Freeney, Bullock on campus for recruiting visits.

Yes, and let's do it 5 years ago when they were all relevant NFL players.

They were great NFL players you can't just discredit them because they get older. Also as was just mentioned Freeney is still very good.
