Anyone else concerned

difference is we didnt have 20 opt outs and our coach didnt bail 9 days before the game.

This is literally the worst case scenario for us. Cant believe we are could get screwed.
Maybe the HC is staying through the bowl game?

And the insanity continues. There has to be some major changes
to the business model that is now "college" football. The greed
factor by all parties involved is a death knoll unless reasonable
minds prevail.
Just thinking about how the current system must be a nightmare for both players and coaches. There's zero stability. I understand the old system was very restrictive for players but in the current system you never appreciate where you are.

This is going to sound insane but if WSU lost 50 players over the next week, they should still agree to play and figure out a way to make it safe for all by working something out with Syracuse. For the sake of $13M to be paid out in total to both schools, it’s critical that they figure this out. I’m serious, if I was Syracuse I would even go as far as offering them walk-on players to use if necessary. More playing time for all, makes the game safe and most importantly, both programs get paid.

We need to stop thinking of bowl games as anything more than a glorified scrimmage. Albeit a scrimmage that pays a ton of money that both programs need.

Out of curiosity could there be a forfeit or do they just plug in a good APR team?

Pretty sure total payout is around 6-7 million combined so 3.5 million a school.

I would guess the Holiday Bowl is getting a firm commitment today. So they can go to the APR list if need be ! This is not like covid, I expect there was ll be a team to face us.

This. I think people thought I was joking when I said we could loan them Dan Villari to play out of wildcat. I was not.

It can be a spring game for all I care, politics can't deprive us of a 7-figure payout and a double-digit win count.

No offense intended, SU isn’t loaning players , walk ons or not . IMO

None taken, I don't think they could if they even wanted. I'm just saying as a practical matter...this game...get it done.

Ahh good catch. I think it’s still the 2nd highest paying bowl game after CFP games.

I imagine that the bowl has insurance to cover weather/earthquakes and teams dropping out. SU will get its money.

Yep it should be but we don’t take the 3 million for ourselves all ACC teams that make bowl put the money in the conference and they each get a share.
