Anyone know what’s up with SUfootball NIL

Sometimes it seems like this school is run by a bunch of real knuckleheads!

Sure is. What our insiders are saying sounds no bueno.

These types of large-scale issues are straightened out by real leadership. We don't seem to have strong leadership on the Hill and haven't for some time now. And by leadership I mean the very top. The BOT's.

Sounds like a CEO that needs to manage the Board. Placate some egos and soothe fractures. Not easy but not impossible. I'd like to think a new AD will be given the chance to get everyone together and start at zero again.

The problem starts with the idea that this collective is totally run by a football donor and also he/they also takes care of all the compliance issues regarding NIL. There should be infrastructure in place where this is out of their hands. It should be the first thing Blair does when he gets on board. He has an NIL Director at Toledo. The other problem is the basketball program doesn’t even have a place to donate to NIL, only to SU to offset their revenue share responsibility. This is all amateur hour stuff.

Blair said today he has already reached out to Fran Brown and JB to see what they need for their programs. That’s a good start and could rally some of the donors who wanted Carp. For all we know, Blair’s revenue acumen may have already replaced the $5 million😃🙏📞.
Who is JB? or has he been reinstated as HC? or is it still JB's program regardless?

Correct. This is all stuff the school was aware of and didn’t fix. It shouldn’t fall on outside donors. That’s why this starts and end with the chancellor and BoT.

point of clarification here: by federal law the collectives can’t be run by the athletic department.

Collectives are for above the cap money. SU handles the 20.5. Collectives have to handle everything above

That’s what the House case was all about.

Also the football donor that runs it isn’t Lally to other posters points

Other schools basically have their “collectives” in the same building and staffed by their people. And they handle all the administrative work, legal stuff etc.

Our university partnered with one collective that went bankrupt.

Some donors stepped in on the football side to help as a short term thing. The university still didn’t fix it.

Yuppppp. We need football, we need Fran Brown.

Appreciate what the Lallys have done but why in their right mind they ever thought Lyke was a good option is beyond me.

To see this happen, is actually pretty sad.

If this is not rectified and I fear it won’t be, it’ll be real hard to support Cuse athletics in anyway shape or form
DisLyke was an awful candidate. Awful. Did I say awful? Just wanted to be clear she was awful.

Sometimes very wealthy people allow their egos to lead them to acting very unintelligent.

Can you name me a collective that’s run in-house by a school? Not trying to be argumentative, but that’s not at all what my understanding was from reading up on the House case last summer.
