Anyone know what’s up with SUfootball NIL

Wow, you have an indoor pool in Florida!

Well I’m not on social media except for this place and I still don’t get the toxicity comment.
There were people photoshopping Adrian Autry into photos with Jeffrey Epstein and Osama Bin Laden.

It’s a small minority of people, but completely unacceptable.

No one is calling out the fans that are normal and get upset with losing. It’s the lunatic fringe that ruins it for everyone.

I’m trying to rank which of these has been the most disappointing to learn about over these past couple of weeks as I’ve supported football and basketball for the past 25 years -

A. This administration has hired some terrible leaders (ie. Lyke) and many of these poor decisions have led to boosters infighting, finger pointing and walking away from SU Athletics.

B. SU Athletics is behind from a fundraising standpoint that even schools like Providence which are smaller and in an inferior conference can claim to have more to offer than Syracuse.

C. Fran would’ve hightailed it out of here if we won 7-8 games last year. Two years is far short of the 10+ he promised in the beginning. I also don’t like hearing that he has poorly treated some people both in and outside of the program. I hope it’s not true.

What platforms were those? Only thing I do is
Facebook those other sites are junk. Even Facebook skip past most stuff.

The fan calling into the show and making a joke about his next job was poor. That was pretty rough.
That “person” (and I use that term lightly in this case) is a complete low life. I blocked them on Twitter and my hope is that the rest of the community does the same. Things were bad for sure but it isn’t an excuse to take the opportunity to act like a complete piece of garbage.

I vaguely remember this but almost certain it was in regards to recruiting players on a national level?
Sick and tired of what?

"We have a good year, we can go anywhere in the country" came out of Fran's mouth in January of '25. That's a fact.

is C even true? I mean like where did you hear this.

So has anyone heard if the rumors that a new Football-specific NIL collective is being formed under the purview of the SU athletics department are true?... and that it will replace SU Football NIL collective that has taken it's ball and gone home??

SU athletics can NOT form an NIL collective.

SU is paying players using revenue sharing.

NIL collectives are not allowed to be run or managed by the schools. They must be done out of house.

SUfootball NIL has had some restructuring recently but is still alive and well.

Alive and well?? Is the website going to be restored and functional any time soon?

Also, I was not implying the school was taking it over or starting another collective, but that there may rumblings another football-specific is being set-up and the school can be involved with collectives in some ways now, no?

They are working on the website.

As many have posted in here, their instagram and other social media sports are alive and well.

Meiers Creek has posted about their NIL fundraiser they are doing on this board.

For those of you wondering how you can contribute to Syracuse Football? Buy a ticket to the Meiers Creek event. It is sure to be worth your time and money!!

I'm hearing new name, new website coming.

If we unequivocally come here for a primary source of information as it relates the strengths as well shortcomings of athletics department and administration we are going to end up massively disappointed. Just a thought. It is most certainly not even at the tertiary level as it relates to validation/ sourcing. Troll thoughts? I wasn't speaking to you specifically Nick sorry

A. The Athletic Department did not hire Lyke. It was a personal move by the Chancellor.

B. Athletics is not behind Providence but they likely spend more on men’s basketball from an NIL and revenue sharing perspective. When you don’t have a football program and don’t care about women’s basketball there’s no place else for the money to go. Except hockey?

C. Time will tell.

The more you know. 🌈

It's a little more nuanced post the house settlement. The school can essentially integrate a collective into its operations now. With it comes some drawbacks but they could be the marketing agency and facilitate those deals directly.

See - Buckeye Sports Group, which is a partnership between Ohio State and Learfield. They've essentially merged marketing and NIL operations.

LSU does it a little differently but still incorporates NIL giving into donor perks. Fans get priority/donor points for donating to Bayou Traditions and the line between the LSU fundraising arm and the collective is basically minimal.

School wants to avoid directly running a collective because they want to limit the appearance of athletes being employees. They also don't want to run a collective directly because then Title IX applies.

But there are LOTS of ways a school can make this work and essentially run it. They shouldn't be relying on the generosity of former football player's time to run collectives anymore.
