Anyone want to defend that TO by Babers?

We didn’t even score and half the griping is about how much time would’ve been left on the clock had we scored. we should worry about scoring first since it’s something we struggle to do.

Isn’t the point of taking the fg to make it?

So if we make it they get the ball back.

Our last 3 games endings have mirrored the Detroit Lions last few games. Loser teams find ways to lose.

Ive watched a lot of football and never lost my ish because the coach called a timeout with 40 seconds left to decide whether to kick a FG or go for it…. Because I’ve never really seen a coach do that. Not when the kick ties the game and the other team is getting the ball back with X amount of time on the clock.

As meh as Anish and Golic were, there’s a reason that they were both dumbfounded as well.
Each week announcers are dumbfounded by Dinos decisions. Hes not the brightest LED in the Dome

Dino didn’t call time to ice his kicker. Jesus. No doubt he called time to first decide if they wanted to go for it or attempt the FG. Then if they had decided to go for it, what play had the best chance for success.
What kind of idiot do you have to be to not know in advance what you're going to do if he gets tackled. It's not some unforseen crazy event to have a no gain

You're conveniently skipping the part where even if he makes it, he saved time for Clemson to march down the field for a game winner of their own.

lol no I just worry about first things first. Like scoring. we can’t score to save our lives and people are complaining about a what if scenario and leaving too much time on the clock.

We could’ve picked up the 4th and 1 and lost just the same because we can’t score TDS or kick field goals. Let’s be honest here the 2nd TD we scored was pure luck. Our QB can’t pass and our WRs are bad. Amazing to even be in the game at the end.

I can’t believe it’s really the case, but it sure seems like this staff doesn’t plan more than one play at a time. I mean, it can’t be that, but their decision making is so damn slow and labored that it feels like it could be that.

Best RB in football on 4th and short and we don’t go for it…..love Andre but he’s not the Freshman Year version of himself
Seriously. Did Szymt's GF leave him or something? He's been . . . . shaky.

So, are the chances of making the FG better with :40 left than with :10 left?

Idk. The timeout/not going for it decision stinks. The holder not spinning it stunk. Our quarterback not moving the ball with his arm stinks. The team could be 7-0, 6-1, 5-2…. Instead were 3-4.

blame Dino. Blame anyone. Idc. This just is so damn frustrating. 3 straight loses on essentially the last play of the game. Pain

same. But what’s it matter?

As an outsider, I was blown away that he didn't go for it. We couldn't stop 34 and Dino played for the tie. Terrible decision.

Well they stopped them 3rd and 2 the play before.

He called a timeout to challenge a 6 yard gain from inside the 10 when Clemson spiked it to give themselves one shot at the end zone and then a FG kick. They scored a TD with the extra downs.

Then followed up that fantastic sequence with the end of game “gotta think about it” timeout to give Clemson 40 seconds to attempt a game winning FG, assuming our kicking team executes the kick, which was doomed to fail because that’s what happens when you play scared.

This stuff is almost every game, it’s crazy.

I'm going to look at the bright side, at least we're not getting blown out and playing respectable, competitive football. A far cry from last year's debacle and it seems like we've got good young players all over the field

Plays I would have loved to see.

1. Sneak
2. Fake hand off to Elmore pitch to Tucker
3. Fake Field Goal.

Andre had a terrible angle and has been awful. When we called the early timeout why did we not talk about scenarios?

So? He decided to talk it over? Like I said above, ive seen teams send the FG team out then call time and change their mind.
He shouldn’t need to talk it over. This is something a good coach game plans for and knows what he will do. If you run the ball on 3rd and 2 it is within the realm of possibility you get stopped short. You need to know what you will do next and not figure it out. You run your third down play with your mind made up of what you will do On 4th down. Dino struggles here and can’t seem to plan or think ahead

Absolute idiocy. If you want to kick, run the clock down 20 seconds then call it.

Or let Clemson burn theirs.

By calling that, you ensure that even IF YOU MAKE IT you give Clemson the ball with a timeout in their pocket and 40 seconds to go.

Dino is a terrible. TERRIBLE clock manager and play caller and has probably cost us more games than he has won us.

I may not watch another game this season.

obviously he was thinking of going for it which was the right call no matter what as szymt has struggled to make extra points look routine

Don't they have the play to try to draw a team offsides? If you send a heavy formation out there and GS goes under center and gives a hard count, you got a real good chance of a Clemson player biting a bit early and that gives you a first down. They have to believe a team on the ropes like Syracuse is going to run a play ther and make their own luck. No coaching savvy up on the hill.

You either give the ball to your best RB in 40 years or go for a 48 yard FG to tie with a struggling kicker. This wasn't a difficult decision. If they stop Tucker, you live with it. Always err on the side of aggression. And how does this decision jive with Dino's decision to go for 2 last weekend? He's literally played terrible hands for 3 straight weeks.
