Attendance for Liberty

less than rutgers but more than albany so maybe 22k once everyone was in seats

Maybe it’s me….but the dome seemed louder with the new roof. More steel = louder acoustics?

and props to the students. Great job.

I've noticed the same. Crowds have been smallish thus far, but both Rutgers and Liberty were pretty damn loud at times. Lets keep up the momentum and test out the theory for WF and Clemson with bigger crowds.

With the exception of the Clemson game, I think the turnout we saw for the Liberty game is about as good as you will do most weeks the rest of the way. Clemson will be the outlier, but the rest will be about the size of the Liberty crowd.

People who have wanted to see the "new Dome" have now probably seen it, so that won't be a drawing card. The brand of football isn't especially exciting, and the team is coming off a 1 win season so most of the locals are down on the program. And beating Ohio, Albany, and Liberty isn't going to get them enthused. Plus throw in the anti-vaxxer's who can't go and this is what ya get.

Just the reality of the situation. The program needs new blood, some new life, and a jolt injected into it. Until that happens, this is the type of turnout we will see for every home game.

Small turnout a disappointment -thought a Friday night game and first opportunity to see the new Dome lighting in that environment would bring fans out.
On Thursday, got the idea to take the whole family/kids/grandkids and have some fun-
Then remembered NONE of them got vaccinated! Too late. The times we live in (and YES I'm frustrated regarding their anti-vax stand for many reasons, missing this game was just one!)

I don’t think this is entirely accurate. If Syracuse can find a way to go to doak walker and knock off an albeit bad FSU team it’s still a name brand. Team would be 4-1 playing against a ranked wake forest, probably a night game and shot at top 25 ranking. Would expect big crowd similar to nc state back in 2018. A lot of caveats there though. Lose at FSU and your assessment is correct.

all Im gonna say is that the students damn well showed up and brought most of the noise last night….

I know CousCuse was singing There Goes My Hero when Shafer was fired.
He's not my hero Chip, I just let people go on things they do in times of stress.

“Tickets distributed”

it is what it is. The people there last night were great. If the team knocks off FSU we’ll get a few more thousand in the building for Wake.
Agree. I have six seats. I only went. Hard with kids and family this year. Getting them tested with school and everything is tough. Can’t wait for them to get vaccinated soon.

Maybe, I just don't see it that way. Plus I think the entire vaccination status to get in the Dome is preventing roughly half of the "casual fan base" who may want to come to a game from coming because they can't get vaxxed for a medical reason or don't want to for whatever personal reason they may have. That is a much bigger factor here honestly than some think.

There aren't 15K people that would be there minus a shot. Win this week and it'll start looking more normal.
