BC Postgame

I agree, but we also could have lost some of the close games we won (Youngstown St, LeMoyne, Colgate). So we are probably right where we should be recordwise.
Just because we’ve identified our ceiling doesn’t mean you have to counter with our floor. Not to mention those games were a long time ago, when the team was still jelling. Red turned over most of the roster and the new guys were not accustomed to playing in the Dome.

Bottom line, Starling was not available for ND, Georgetown, and Wake Forest. It’s not the same thing.

It's less restrictive to have them untucked.
I seriously didn't think they were supposed to do that until I saw them do it a few other times. I would swear in past years the refs would tell them to tuck them in. Is it a rule change or amI imagining things.

It doesn't matter that those games were a long time ago or that the team was still gelling. The fact of the matter is they could have easily lost those games just as much as the team could have won the games vs Notre Dame, Georgetown or Wake. So in the end their record is probably where it should be. It's nice to see them beat two very bad ACC teams and hopefully this will give them momentum for a much tougher game vs Louisville.

They could also be 0-16, why bring it up? This isn’t a matter of winning and losing close games. Their record is only where it should be without Starling.

A few thoughts after sitting a few rows behind our bench.
-after Bell hit the side of the backboard and jogged back, complaining to the refs, Red basically threw Cuffe towards the scorers table. He tried to talk to Bell and Bell just blew right by him. For the rest of the game Bell sat slumped down in his chair. This has happened so many times you just have to wonder if Red has finally had enough.
-i’ve been going to Syracuse games at BC since the 90s and I don’t remember a game where the percentage of Syracuse fans was as high as today. We may have had more fans at certain games when we were obviously better but it felt like it was 8020 today. As you guys heard on TV the Let’s Go orange chant was outstanding.
-as disappointing as this season has been, it struck me how into this game the entire bench was with the exception of Bell. Donnie in particular was very engaged. The staff was all in. Red was pretty fired up, particularly after Carlos hit the three.
-today clearly demonstrated what everybody but apparently Red knew. There was never any reason to play Carlos the minutes he was getting.
-before and after the game, our guys were very accommodating to the fans who wanted autographs and pictures. We spent a couple minutes talking to Donnie and He comes across as a really nice kid. He wouldn’t say when he thinks he would be back and explained he didn’t know.

Thanks for sharing.

I've been rooting for Bell as well as the others but when he hit the side of the board and the ball bounced towards him he never even moved to get it and the BC kid ran and grabbed it...glad Red took him out on the spot.

We could hear the chants of “Let’s go, Orange!” The SU away fans, as usual, did us proud. Thank you!

I did not for one minute think we were going to win. Well, actually, in the last two minutes it dawned on me that we could. JJ did such a great job and looked so happy! And Cuffe making those threes! That was so crucial to our win.

I noticed there was a good player on the BC team named Beadle. My friends and I enjoyed that. I am sorry because it means that my Beadle ancestors owned slaves. :( But he was doing quite well for himself in the game. And it was fun to mutter “Beadle!” A little like “Newman!”
It's not a common name, but beadle is a word used in Britain for a minor church official. Likely multiple lines of Beadles, so hope for that.

so was the team taking busses earlier this year but now we’re flying to/from Boston?

Great comeback. Team locked in in the last 12 minutes.

1st half was dominating as well. We were up 27-20 until a Lampkin pulled a trifecta. Gets fouled, gets T-eed up, misses both free throws, and throws away the ball on the ensuing possession. Poof, our commas of the game is gone. From that point until turnaround, we got to 34-42, a 20-7 run got BC. IMHO the turnaround started when we drove the lane continuously. I believe we are a top 20 team in scoring within the arc. In our 2 nd half run we drove in at will and then had Lampkin & Davis post up for big-man points.

Committed 6 turnovers. After averaging 20 for December was very nice to see a clean game. Both our small forwards seem to ignore Autry. Both Bell and Taylor (who are hard to tell apart without a uniform on) ran past the coach on the way to bench multiple times.

Autry pulled a Boeheim 4-5 times during the game . Meaning a player makes a familiar mistake, Red looked at the bench and a sub sprinted to the scorers table. I had not seen that earlier in the season. Though this game I was there in person.

Shout out to Buffs Pub, a few miles from campus. Fantastic wings (and living in DC area where none exist). Lots of SU clad fans were there. I counted at least a dozen waiting for tables.

Croud was more than half orange fans. (Overheard a BC fan at end of game. “We’re not winning another game”). Conte Forum is a great venue to see a game

Moore looked miserable not playing while looking at Autry talk to players during time out. Carlos was bobbing to the music. Cuffs was the reason for our comeback. He drives and finishes in heavy traffic. Obviously JJ was the star, but Cuffes drives opened up JJ to do his thing.

Liked the way we played last 3 games (including FSU loss)

GO CUSE

Saw the first half not the second. How the heck did we lose the lead and get down 8 to BC dumpster fire?
