Pint was the right call to. We had like 10 yards offense. No guarantee we get it. They were slicing our defense. Rather make them go 90 vs 55.
Everybody wants a top 25 program or better, but every guy with a brain should know you have to build that and it's not an overnight deal. I'm sorry if you can't see through the weeds to see the garden that is slowly growing. You'll be one of the first to want to enjoy the harvest, though. Excellent metaphor, if I say so myself...Not a brainiac, we're just posters who want a Top 25 program. I'm shocked at how many people are fine with garbage football.
Disclaimer, ever since I moved to SEC country I've become more and more disgusted with our football status and how it's fallen off. Maybe it's a cultural/geographic thing.
All damn game.Counting CMU holds on the DL could be a fun game...
Oh more injury excuses.
Hello we played a MAC school.
Yup. The DBs over toward the CMU sideline were completely lost. They had their hands out looking over at our sideline like they were asking what they were supposed to be doing. You're wrong in both counts. Watch the replay. Cordy and whigham were lost. I must be crazy but I still see 6 wins. We are a different team with Eric at QB. We look like a real team.
Clearly Wilson is not an answer and never will be
Need to recruit another QB
Good kid, just not a D1 QB
Rex Culpepper can't get here soon enough.
Ok and devils advocate. Why is our defense so disorganized? All game we either had blown assignments and people running wide open, that last play wouldn't have been any different. They were slicing our defense is the reason I'd gamble on getting one yard over giving them the ball back. They were at the 40 within 15 seconds anyway. You're wrong in both counts. Watch the replay. So even taking into consideration what you've said, it still reflects on the coaching.
Injuries and bad calls happen (if you believe them to be bad this game). Our team has very little depth when everyone is healthy.
With all that happened we are 3-0, playing LSU with nothing to lose and then have a bye week.
Assuming Dungey, Erv and Ish can be back for USF, we'll be entering the game at 3-1, with our playmakers.
Yes, that game was rough, but we are 3-0. It sure looks like we can finally stop worrying about our QB position for a while (once Dungey is back) and focus on getting to a bowl.
If you had told me that we would lose Hunt when we did, I wouldn't have thought we would get to 3-0.
We got there.
When we get to 8 wins this year, we'll remember this game as the game Ron Thompson stepped up and saved our bacon.
PS: if Dungey is healthy for LSU and we somehow beat them, I'm all for having "Eric Dungey night" at a game later this season to retire his jersey. Statue optional.
Dungey is the real deal. I'm really excited to see 4 years of him.
And don't forget about Riley Dixon saving our bacon either. IMO he should have gotten the game ball.
It's much too early for that. Cripes. For one thing, we should wait until basketball starts to retire his jerseyInjuries and bad calls happen (if you believe them to be bad this game). Our team has very little depth when everyone is healthy.

So do I.I'm not exaggerating, I think Dungey can be a first or second round draft pick. I really do.
And good point about Dixon.
Not excuses...REASONS! It was pretty obvious that with Dungey in, and despite not having Trudo, Irv, and Parris, that we looked like An ACC team, doing what they should be doing, against a MAC school. I'm sick of injuries being called excuses. If someone followed this team objectively, they would state those injuries, especially the Dungey one, as the REASON this game was even close. We would have still surrendered 24 pts and more yards than a yard stick factory, but I'm guessing we hang at least 40 pts in regulation this game, not to mention give the defense some much needed rest. With Dungey in and Irv back, this offense can score.Oh more injury excuses.

I live in Atlanta but flew up for ND last year and watched us get dismantled by Ga Tech 2 years ago.
I don't know why anyone would want to get season tickets to Syracuse Football though. Seriously, aside from fierce loyalty, why would anyone want to buy season tix to this team, with this coach and this style?
Today was one of the most embarrassing performances I have ever seen from this team. It showed how embarrassingly far off we are from competing on a serious level. I don't expect us to ball out with these injuries but I do expect competence and a higher than High School Varsity level performance.
