Bowling Green journalist on Babers

College football is so insanely volatile with teams fading and rising on an almost annual basis. As quickly as we declined we could rise with the right scheme and coach. Babers high powered offense in the dome could very well be that.

Yep. Lots of examples of teams that we now consider elite that were mediocre for decades.

Clemson was pretty bad for 20 years from the early 90s till Dabo become HC. LSU was average for decades until Saban came. Michigan State was pretty much a nobody until Dantonio. Stanford was bad until Harbaugh then Shaw. TCU until Gary Patterson. Oregon pre-Bellotti.

That could be us!!!

Missouri isn't for everybody. We go there every 3 years for wifey's family reunion. It's a very backward place. (Sorry all you missouri folks on the board - JMHO.) I'd live in Mississippi before moving to Mizzou. Just sayin.

Wow, that was uncalled for.

I grew up in CNY, went to grad school in Missouri and lived in Kansas City for 7 years afterward. I think I might be qualified to speak to both places and their 'backwardness'. I bleed 100% Orange, but I'll take the Power & Light District over Armory Square any day.

Unfortunately I find this attitude all too prevalent. I was born and raised in Syracuse and love it, however KC makes it look like a backwater.

Didnt somebody do that in a sport once? I could swear someone did that in a major sport. And i dont mean Lane Kiffen. They signed, and before they started they went somewhere else.
Billy Donovan?

Glen Mason at UGA? He was there all of 5 days before returning to Kansas.

True story.

My brother-in-law graduated from Cuse many years ago, and took a job in KC. His mother was shocked he'd go to that back water town and actually asked him if the streets in KC were paved. We still laugh about it.

3 mile bay on Oneida lake, keep your ears open for the pig roast weekend. Used to be wild. We have kids now and no boat.

Yeah...we used to go there when I was a kid...really miss that type of thing down here in Florida, where you have to worry about 6-7 different kinds of poisonous snakes, alligators, etc in the freshwater areas...

I've heard that everything is up to date in KC.

Lmao, that's great. That's basically how my dad reacted when I told him that Denver was on my list of potential cities to move to. He said something along the lines of "Do they even have buildings in Denver? I'm pretty sure it's just empty woods there."

I will say that I have been to some kick butt concerts and played out and around the power and light a few times...it doesn't suck.

So you are saying there is part of KC that has power AND light? Holy cow, they have made amazing progress there. Do they have a traffic light? ;)
