Breaking Bad

Was that where she got all her Methylamine before? I thought she has a tip about the train, but I didn't know she got her barrels from China. She always had Methylamine coming into Madgical for her other companies, but I am thinking those barrels may come from Grey Matter which is obviously a chemicals company because of Walter's background in chemistry.

Would love it. Can't stand either one of them (Gretchen and Elliot). Walt told Jesse about his falling out with them and Jesse did mention he was going to hit Walt where he lives. You can take that a number of ways, but one thing is Jesse knows how much it tore Walt up to be so short sighted (and prideful) about his break-up with Gretchen and walking away from the Company. I haven't looked ahead to see who is credited in upcoming episodes so I don't know if either actor is going to show up again. It certainly would make a great plot twist and is the kind of thing I could see Vince and Company doing based on previous things that have happened.

Uggh. This episode was off-the-charts good...until the firefight. The show should have ended with the first gunshot.

I was thinking shots in the background while Hank and Marie were on the phone. Could be they all ran out of bullets, everybody lives and Walt takes them all out to Pollos Hermanos, lunch on him.

The next three episodes are called Ozymandias, Granite State, and Felina.

It's pretty easy to figure out what Ozymandias references, and Walt's fake ID says he's from New Hampshire, and Felina, well, the chemical symbols are Fe (iron), Li (lithium, Na (sodium) which people think means Blood, Meth, Tears apparently. Oh, and obviously Felina is also an anagram of "finale".

Felina is also the name of the dancer in the Marty Robbins Song "El Paso" that the the cowboy goes back to see one last time and ends up dying in her arms. PS, I like the gunfighter's choice of hats.

I have a feeling that Gilligan is going to go all "Hamlet" over these next few episodes and almost every major character ends up dead including Skylar, Jesse, hank, Walt, maybe even Jr. and Holly. No way Hank and Gomie survive this firefight.

I thought the show did a pretty good job last night of showing that Hank and Walt are a lot a like. Both will go to any means to protect themselves and their families.

This half of the season is exactly showing this as Hank is "Breaking Bad" himself in his need to take down Heisenberg even though it will be the end of his career as soon as Walter is formally booked.

Skyler is dead for sure as we knew that all the way back in the opening scene of last season when Walter did the bacon thing with his Denny's meal and broke the bacon into a 52. Walter has had a tendency during the show to always take the habits of people who have been killed. He started cutting the crusts of peanut butter sandwiches like Crazy Eight did, he started drinking scotch on the rocks after Mike the Cleaner used rocks, and he used a towel on the floor when he was throwing up like Gus Fringe taught him. So I think its pretty obvious Skyler is going to die, and its safe to say Gomie and Hank won't be surviving the gun fight with Todd's Uncles crew. I think Walter's house gets seized next episode after he refuses to cook with Todd and Skyler and the kids go to Marie's and they go to the DEA because Hank has been killed and Walter will use Saul's disappearer and go to New Hampshire.

Can't imagine they survive (Gomie and Hank), but they weren't shown dead as the episode ended. It looked like Gomie was hit but Hank didn't appear to be. On Talking Bad after the show, Bryan Cranston said the gunfight continues into next week's episode. I'm expecting some sort of twist. Maybe Walt stops the shooting somehow, agrees to cook and Hank is held hostage. Walt eventually disappears after paying his due bill to Jack and the boys. Comes back to rescue Hank in the final episode. Marie will try and convince the DEA that Walt is Heisenberg and he killed Hank. Not sure how that will play out since she is a bit of a fruit cake. I don't think Skyler goes down. In real time, there is only about 6 months left between last night's episode and Walt's last day.

Interesting theory, I just can't see Hank surviving 6 months in captivity to Todd's Uncles crew. Gomie was clearly hit in the stomach area I thought. I don't see Walter saving Jesse now for sure after him going rat. Who sprays Heisenberg in the house has to be Todd's Uncles crew IMO and I think that is because he won't pay his bill to crew because Hank will have been killed.

No way Skylar survives. Her turn to the dark side after being the show's conscience for some time seals her fate in the eyes of the writers. Makes her inevitable fate easier to stomach. She's gonzo, no doubt in my mind.

Can't anybody on TV shoot straight? They should have dropped Hank and Gomez with the first shots.

Ok, random thought. What if Walt intends to put the ricin in his batch of Blue to taint the product and essentially end the Neonazi meth business?

Interesting. But, probably be too diluted to do much damage imo.

Yeah, true. Was just thinking Walt is the type of guy who is not going to want to see these guys essentially taking over his business, and dead junkies and tainted product accomplishes that.

Vince Gilligan said on the first Talking Bad the Ricin could probably kill a group of people so that probably meant 4 at most. I think Marie has a little Lady MacBeth and after Hank is killed she will try to poison Walter and get Skyler. I think the Ricin is for Walter himself. The gun has to be for Todd's Uncles crew and maybe he is saving Holly.

Yeah, true about Hank in 6 mos captivity. Thinking about it Jesse may be the one he comes back to save, despite the "rat" he became. Maybe the crew holds Jesse hostage by holding Brock and Andrea over his head. Walt disappears, is presumed dead, but comes back to save Jesse.

Scene with Walt driving while essentially confessing (unintentionally) on the phone to Jesse gave me chills.

As expected, Better Call Saul is a go. And it's also a prequel, also as expected.

If they don't get David Cross to guest star as one of his clients, or better yet a rival lawyer, I will be furious.

Every cast member except Walt & Skylar could guest on the prequel . . . I think klepto Marie would be an excellent stealth client.

BTW, Odenkirk is the answer to a trivia question:

Who is the only person to have had a recurring role on both the greatest drama (Breaking Bad) and the greatest comedy (The Larry Sanders Show) in TV history?

(and, yes, I know you disagree with both, Jekelish)

Odenkirk didn't have a recurring role on my pick for best comedy of all time, but he was in an episode of it, which is something
