What a night
Seriously, coffee tastes great this morning. After twenty years of dealing with their dominance (and arrogance) it is so d@mn satisfying to have not only won but completely destroyed them in the process. Gonna remember this one for a long time. What a night
And he’s getting carries and clearly some space to run. I’ve been a fan. He was considered a solid post contact runner as a rookie and honestly his numbers have remained solid despite limited touches most of the year. He breaks tackles. He doesn’t have the breakaway speed like some do, but he is a very physical runner which I think he doesn’t get credit for.
I posted in the thread earlier but his run on second and 3, waiting for a seam on the toss when nothing was there at first was very very good.
He’s been killing it for 5 weeks, honestly.
Didn’t get back until about 1:30 last night. Game was a ton of fun. It was obvious from the get go the Pats had no chance. People were dumping tickets so my wife and I grabbed some in the 200 level sideline club sections. Wasn’t so cold when a lot of people were there and I’m sure the overhead heaters in those sections help, a little brisk when the sections cleared out for halftime and at the end of the game. I didn’t even need my gloves for the game and had a beer in my bare hand the whole time.
Bills fans are hardy, man. Lots of people tailgating with raging fires in the parking lots. Saw at least 3 people hanging their heads out the windows of cars vomiting on the way out. Vomit freezes quickly, if you’re curious. Also, someone threw a dildo into the end zone. Hilarious. I thought that was reserved for Tom Brady.
My only criticism is that the traffic flow/parking situation going into the game is the worst I’ve seen at a stadium. This is the third game I’ve been to this stadium, first time I actually parked in the stadium lots.
I get the impulse, the modern game clearly is inordinately impacted by bad weather, but man I love snow games. The wind issues will remain annoying, but as long as they build the new stadium to mitigate high winds, I think this game went a long way to calming down all of us BUILD A DOME folks.
Is it safe to say that Bills fans have never been a bigger fan of the Steelers in their lives than today?
I have a Stevie jersey. I loved him. A fun fact… outside of Diggs last two, Johnson is the only bills wideout with back to back 1k years. He had 3 straight. Of course Eric Moulds (my favorite ever) had several in between years of like 950, but technically never >1k two straight.I went on a Twitter posting spree here last night, so I'm not sure if I posted it, but Thurman was at the game last night, rocking a Singletary jersey. Motor said that he was humbled and touched ...how much do you think it meant to him, to have a HOFer wear his jersey, and show him love?
This franchise is just different - I lost track of how many former players showed up for the game last night, in brutal weather.
OTOH:
Thurman
Kelly
Bruce
Talley
Tasker (duh)
Wolford
Fina
Stevie Johnson
Fitzpatrick (shirtless and AN ACTIVE NFL PLAYER, no less)
Brandon Spikes
Eric Wood
Cornelius Bennett
I'm sure that I missed a few. Just really cool, IMO
Burrow is good but their D looked like crap.Bengals look legit, but yea I’d rather play them at home than KC on the road.
Figured we’d have to play KC either way at some point though.. I don’t think anyone, outside potentially us, in the AFC is beating them. I know the Bengals did, but they’re not doing that twice in 4 weeks. Saying this as if the seeding shook out differently before the playoffs.
Part of it is scar tissue.. same reason I was worried about playing NE last night. However, im
not sure how good they truly are.. but with Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Jones, Reid etc they’ve got dudes and pedigree. The AFC gatekeepers until proven otherwise.
just looked up Andre Reed’s stats wondering how that was possible. Wow. Guy had 13,000 receiving yards but never had 1,000 in back to back seasons. That seems almost impossible it’s so unlikely.I have a Stevie jersey. I loved him. A fun fact… outside of Diggs last two, Johnson is the only bills wideout with back to back 1k years. I think it was due to two things: (1) teams just threw less frequently back then; and (2) there were so many other options for Kelly to throw to (Lofton, Thurman, McKellar, Metzelaars, Brooks,Beebe, etc.), not to mention Thurman and Kenny Davis running the ball.just looked up Andre Reed’s stats wondering how that was possible. Wow. Guy had 13,000 receiving yards but never had 1,000 in back to back seasons. That seems almost impossible it’s so unlikely.
Burrow is for real (although his post-game press conferences are becoming really cheesy), but the Bengals only put up 308 yards of total offense yesterday - and that's with a lot of weapons, against a fairly porous defense.Burrow is good but their D looked like crap.
Right, they were loaded with weapons and like you said - different game.I think it was due to two things: (1) teams just threw less frequently back then; and (2) there were so many other options for Kelly to throw to (Lofton, Thurman, McKellar, Metzelaars, Brooks,Beebe, etc.), not to mention Thurman and Kenny Davis running the ball.
Agreed… it’s sort of a silly stat but nevertheless it’s true!just looked up Andre Reed’s stats wondering how that was possible. Wow. Guy had 13,000 receiving yards but never had 1,000 in back to back seasons. That seems almost impossible it’s so unlikely.
