Jameel Dumas once gave an interview where he talked about how proud he was of his tummy. He put on bad weight to meet the goals set for him by the "strength and conditioning" team.

Predictable enough, "Fat Dumas" had the worst year of his career, as he lost two steps is speed and became almost unplayable. He also didn't appear to be any stronger, just chubby.

How about average basketball attendance? Not sure what they ended with, but at one point this season their average ticket scans per game were under 5,000 fans. Sure, covid hit everyone's attendance, including us, but that's pretty unfanatical.

Syracuse Metro population is larger or equal. Syracuse is a much better academically than WSU.

Nice try. You googled Wichita’s metro population and got your number. Then googled Syracuse’s city pop, but if you google Syracuse metro you get 650K. I googled the Wichita city pop and it’s 300 Something K which is double the city of Syracuse but the metros are pretty equal.

Final four in 2013, poised to take over #1 in 2014... until we ruined that with Ennis's last second shot from halfcourt to defeat Pitt.

Then they dropped off a cliff, issues with the coach, etc.

Don't recall seeing a program rise to that level and then drop off so sharply with the same coach.

I get that. Bigger kid numbers wise not sure if that translates on the court as directly. Always like to see a big reach an optimal strength. Etan played at 6-10 260 in the league for instance.

Again not saying the kid is the usual beanpole.

He had 1 block every 8 minutes according to a syracuse.com article published today. That’s 5 blocks per 40 mins. I don’t know how he would be for us, but his big presence alone might be enough justification. We can’t be succesful if other teams are able to score in the paint 8 seconds into the shot clock whenever Jesse is sitting. He would keep teams from even trying, just like Jesse often does.
