Bad deal for her but likely a great deal for Nike. Unfortunately, pay is what the market bears and if the article is to be believed, everyone else dropped out a much lower price so wouldn't have been prudent for Nike to make any larger of a deal they needed (obviously this isn't news to anyone). If she blows the sport up the bidders will be around come the next negotiation cycle and that price increases. The question is whether this will permeate to other players or if she is a one off.

She had 30 tonight with 8 assists and clutch free throws to preserve win over hapless Mystics.
But Ted Leonsis is smiling cuz they had 20,333 at Capital one arena. Mystics play elsewhere but moved this one downtown. But hey it’s not all about Caitlin.

I really hope someone with a brain at the WNBA sits the other players down and puts an end to the Caitlin crap they are pulling.
Her getting media attention isn’t her fault. That said, she brings eyes to the screen and butts to the seats. What some of the players are doing is crazy. It would be akin to the PGA guys having tried to undermine Tiger, but they saw the dollars he generated would help all of them.
Clark could bring the WNBA to profitability, which would be huge.

The night before she drew 20,000 to DC, the mystics played Chicago. Half the crowd to see Angel Reece, who’s from Baltimore.

Without sounding like a Karen but I'm shocked and appalled by the way she's being treated. I want to see this league elevated and this was the perfect opportunity for that to happen. I don't want to agree with you but the you're right. Go to Europe and be a hero.

The league isn't innocent in this either.
 
I think the Tiger analogy is good. He faced one Fuzzy Zoeller. CC is facing dozens of pure haters from players, coaches, league brass who remain silent and former players who simply cannot accept that a straight white woman is changing things for the better.
Team USA just chose injured players and a washed up 42 year old for the national team. Pure hate. Really dark.

The league is desperate for the money she brings in but isn’t seeing the big picture and doing enough to protect the money maker. They front loaded the Fever schedule to try and jump start the season. Over the first couple weeks of the season Fever had played 3-5 more games than several teams in the league (including 2 back to backs, while most other teams had 0). I get the idea of striking while the iron is hot, but maybe try not to wear her down the first quarter of the season.
 
My friend who lives in Tennessee took his daughter up to Indianapolis just to see Caitlin play in-person. His daughter’s favorite player was on the other team, but it was Caitlin that sealed the decision for him to drive up to Indy. Now he has a great memory with his daughter.

The WNBA needs to embrace this young woman and stop catering to the sourpusses around that league. The NBA had the same problem with Jokic and Doncic becoming super popular. Dimwits like Kendrick Perkins had the gall to throw out that Great White Hope crap when these guys are bringing so much popularity to the league. God forbid a tremendously gifted player wins the league MVP and be white. MVP should go to the player that has the most impact on his team’s success, and Jokic was better than anyone last season. I’m glad he won the title so these politicized pundits and players had to eat crow and shut up. It’s basketball, not politics.

If I was CC I’d take Ice Cube up on his 7 million dollar offer and join Big3. Let the WNBA sink back into irrelevance and let the players go back to flying commercial. The response from the players since Clark has gotten to the league has been embarrassing.

Stewie won 2 titles and MVP. She has played 6 years and still gets hammered, when attempting to shoot.
The officials are terrible in the WNBA.
They need to be told that basketball is not the WWE, or a Rugby scrum.
It's not just Clark, a lot of the stars get beat


up during games, because of bad refs.

Caitlyn has got to work on cutting down her turnovers. She’s averaging 6.3 assists per game which is great but also 5.6 turnovers which isn’t. As she gains more experience she should get more efficient shooting and hopefully will improve with her assist/turnover ratio. I imagine she’s also going to work on her strength to battle the physicality she’s facing in the wnba.

Did anyone rip on Breanna Stewart when she increased the N.Y. Liberty’s attendance? Never heard a complaint or displays of jealousy from other players. Strange times we live in- being divisive is now “cool”, “voicing one’s truth”. To me it’s the old dumb belief that there are people who truly believe that putting someone down, elevates and makes them greater or better. Couldn’t be further from the truth.

I think she's trying too hard and to do too much. She has to have heard a lot of the negativity out there. Trying to prove the haters wrong, maybe?

I inquired about going to Albany, but the secondary market before they made it tto the regionals was already 4 figures.

Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face. That makes it easy for me, I won't be watching women's basketball in the Olympics. The jealousy and pettiness of the established stars (Stewart included) is embarrassing. I guess they are not interested in growing their sport.
