Can any of the current bench coaches teach m-2-m?

The premise of the poster's question was flawed from the onset. Of course, these guys can coach man. They have been immersed in basketball nearly their entire lives. They have coached and scouted against some of the very best man defenses and coaching in the country throughout their careers.

Can they do it well enough is a different debate. I'm not sure how you know they can't. It's fair to wonder if they can. But, to be crystal clear, I am 100% on board with bringing in someone who has already proven that they can be successful.
Come on man during the Big East heyday Bill Rafferty always opened up with The "Cuse 2-3 zone with man to man principles

Anyone can teach man to man and anyone can play man to man, but they have to be willing to work hard to be good at it. It's not rocket science. There are fundamental concepts, but not that many, really. But, it's not fun to practice it.

It's mind-boggling to me that kids come out of high school with no concept how to play fundamental defense. It was a staple when I was a kid.

That's my question, as well. We can/should all recognize that even the best, established head coaches at the college and pro levels play man at different levels of proficiency. Expecting assistants who haven't coached it for many years to be able to do it at the upper echelon of our league and competition is a bit optimistic.

We haven't played it at any level of competency for a long time. And even if our staff could go back to 95 in their memories and expertise, the game has changed since then. So, how do our guys get good at it? It's far more nuanced than just 'ball-you-man.'

Serious question: are there clinics and such for coaches?

Ooh, google is my friend, too:

Anyone want to start a GoFundMe?

I can imagine it would be somewhat embarrassing for an SU coach to attend at this point...
