That's cool. I don't know CTO, never will, but she is lower than low in my book for someone telling the truth and her calling her a "mall rat.". Frankly she is a "board rat" from where I sit and far, far worse of a person for calling some woman out for telling the truth. Keep that up and she if she has the spine to apologize.

Well, you got one thing right. You don't know CTO.

Really? How many people do you know who shop-lifted from a retail store at 20? I'm not talking about stealing a coffee pot and signage from Dunkin Donuts after 18 beers on a friday night. I mean, literally went out alone, waltzed into a department store, picked out a sweater and a pair of gloves, shoved them in a bag and walked out?

Well, when I was in the Marine Corps, there were Marines caught shoplifting at the exchange, and they would be in about that age range. When I was a Marine JAG, I prosecuted two of them in a court-martial because they refused non-judicial punisment.

If JB wants to sit MCW for embarrassing the program, that's his call. If he decides not to, or disciplines him in a way we don 't see (like running the crap out of him) I'm okay with that too. I just don't look to a bunch of dumb college kids to be the moral example for my kids and don't really think stuff like this degrades my SU degree any, so I'm just not really turning my stomach in knots over this or how JB handles it.

Ban me. It was a scumbag thing to do to call some woman telling the truth of what she saw a rat.

Well, I don't have the power to ban anyone since I'm not a mod, but my point is that in calling CTO "lower than low" you clearly don't know anything about her. Either that, or you are willfully ignoring the insane amount of good she's done that should keep people from uttering such an insult for the rest of time.

And yet many on this board wanted spruill kicked off football team for something far less serious criminally. Hypocrisy is rampant here. Personally, i hate hypocrites. MCW stole some shtt, it was obvious from day one, yet we had one dumb arss moderator call the girl talking about FACTS a "mall rat.". That person should apologize as she is lower than a mall rat in my mind to call people out for the truth. This board is like history, only the people that control what is said get their side to stay a part of history over time and yet the moderators here are either hypocrites or so completely out of touch with reality they call people that happen to be in a mall and see a crime "rats:". Sham, shame, shame. Imagine this post gets deleted but some of the people sitting in the ivory tower deciding what can be posted here need to look in a mirror. Frankly, its sad.

Wow. I'm not really sure this had even a little bit to do with my response to your post.

Right because people that do good never do wrong. She was out of line. She called a human a "rat.". That is a fact and my point. I disagree with a lot here but I don't go and call people I disagree with non-human. Its a low move. Period.

You obviously don't understand what the term "mall rat" even means.

I'm a few beers into the night so who knows if it did, it is just disgusting to see how this thing played out and anyone who told the truth or saw it for what it was early on got called a liar, troublemaker, mall rat, etc, etc.

I'm on board with all this above. Couldn't agree more. I'm not going to cry if he doesn't suspend him. I still feel like it's kind of a weird incident -- walking into a store full of security cameras and trying to steal gloves and a robe. But my point is that I feel like it's a decent lesson for MCW to simply point out that he's now a public figure and random little s--t becomes a big story and there are consequences.

But I agree, I'm not giving up watching the orange if there is no suspension.

Does this move him from #2 in the country to #1 for steals? Does anyone else at least get an assist? Was it like a tryout for the league? I feel for him, I think the ridicule he'll get on the road will be punishment enough.

This.

And the view from atop that horse of his must be quite lovely.

Also, I find this movie to be highly offensive:

You're not going to be banned but you will be required to install a keyboard lock. You can only post after blowing a 0.08 or less.

These jokes haven't been made yet. Very funny.

I did far, far worse things than MCW ever contemplated doing (although I never stole my mom's x-mas present)...I could care less that he did it and it will be a learning lesson, but the hypocrisy on this board and the people that wanted to attack those who told the truth is sad. He committed larceny but bargained his way out of a charge. No huge deal. Embarrassing. He'll learn from it. But to attack those that tell what happened or opined that is seemed clear what happened? I mean really, come down to reality and get off your high horses and take off your orange tinted glasses. All I'm saying is people here were literally attacking people for saying what they saw, which appears to be the the truth. We'll all never know the actual truths , but attacking someone for commenting on what they saw? So absurd.

Can someone explain to me what could possibly be the "misunderstanding" MCW is referring to? And if this was your kid and he said, "Oh, total misunderstanding." You'd be cool with that? I wish all of you were my parents.

What he said to the media (public) and what he might have said to his parents or JB are two entirely different things. He obviously isn't admitting his actions in the media, and really why should he. What he does in private, is well, private.

So now you want to attack those people who didn't chose to rush to judgment before more information was available? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back for being such a genius.

This thread is starting to grow on me.

I think L&T charging $500 hush money is a crime in itself. They should at least donate ALL the money to a charity, especially since this fine is 100% pure profit.

I can't say I agree with you, but I salute your willingness to state your point of view & stand your ground.

Rush to judgment?...there was a picture of him in handcuffs being escorted through the mall. You and others made up fantasies that it wasn't him. I'm no genius, I just don't call people out for seeing what they see. But of course you were smart enough to know it wasn't him, right genius. Comical. As I said I could care less what he did, but the clowns on this board attacking those that were disappointed or actually attacking people who see it go down and commented that it was him is the absurdity of it. People saw it happen. Those people got attacked here. That is fact.

I don't entirely disagree but I would argue that this was a public act and he has used the term misunderstanding, I believe, two times publicly -- the tweet and JB's recounting of what MCW told him and the reports of his telling his parents.

But as for why he would tell the truth in the media? I would argue that from a media relations standpoint you could conceivably turn a negative into a positive by acknowledging your transgression, apologizing and beginning to turn it into some sort of catalyst that helped you mature as a person. And it's not like he faces further criminal sanctions.

My point was that it's pretty clear there was an incident in which MCW made some poor choices. JB could either do some digging (or not) and even if he didn't want to dig could say, "listen, I think it's best for everyone if you sit for a game or two or three. It's not that you're a terrible person, but it's a good lesson for you and everyone in this program -- we're public figures. Our minor f-ups become big stories. We need to keep our noses clean and take accountability for our decisions."

I think JB has most always taken the view that he's not going to hold guys accountable for the things that they do that don't directly impact there athletic performance. He's never been big on dishing out discipline that involves missing games. Whether he does something behind the scenes or just feels that MCW's payment of the $500 penalty and public outing at a petty thief is punishment enough I couldn't say. On the flip side maybe there is the possibility that JB ain't going to let anything interfere with the games that have to be played. I seem to remember Andre Hawkins playing in and starting every game in his college career.

I don't recall making up fantasies that it wasn't him, and even if one assumed it was him, the facts about the situation certainly weren't clear at the time (and still aren't entirely clear). I really don't understand your anger or what you're trying to accomplish here.
