Clean House on this roster

I think that is a foolish statement at best. I believe like many on this board, that he thought Benny would be able to play meaningful minutes. He even made the statement that Jimmy would have been happy with 18 minutes per game.
Jimmy’s low in minutes played for the year is 24, going back to the beginning of the year when they still did not know what Benny would be (in a bad way). #jbsaysthings

I was trying to find a team I could compare this team too.
The closest non-last year team would be 2006-2007.

That team was really only 6.5 deep.
PG- Josh Wright
SG- Eric Devendorf
SF- Determis Nichols
PF- Terrence Roberts
C- Mookie Watkins.
Bench: Andy Rautins and Paul Harris.

Rautins replaced Wright in the starting lineup about half way thru the season.
Wright became .5
The other 6 played and mixed the minutes.

That team is similar to this team except it was better defensively.
By the end of the 2007 season we were dangerous.
2008 brought in much needed talent and then boom 2009-2014.
Every single one of these players was more athletic than their counterparts on this year’s team (Jesse/Frank may be close to Mookie). And obviously Benny is athletic but that’s it at this point.

Benny reminds me of frosh Terrence Roberts - all athlete with no clue how to play. TROB who had a lot of the same hype coming in

Benny actually reminds me of Terrence Roberts as a frosh. TROB had a ton of hype coming in, and averages 2.1 pts on 9 mpg as a frosh. To be fair he was playing behind Hak that year but I remember him being a complete spaz when he got out there, especially on offense.

Please explain an opinion as to how he didn’t do a poor job with roster construction?

I would actually love to here an explaination with actual logic behind it. We literally went into this season with 8(9 if you want to count Sidibe) guys who could play.
JB himself said he likes 11.
Serious question...how would you have handled what this new moronic transfer rule did to this team this year? Both your starting forwards leave...Alan Griffin to play for pay and Quincy to Oregon...your emerging bench player Braswell...your best ballhandler Kamary to Hall...Woody Newton, Marek, etc. How can you possibly plan for that? Please educate us on how you would have handled roster construction differently when you are sucker punched like that.

I am not going to spill tea about last year’s team in response to this.

If our HC actually played the depth we had and gave them clear roles players would stay.
This isn’t 1992 and kids will be patience and wait.

It is not hard to go to a kid and say you will get 15-30 MPG depending on you are playing each game.

Our HC was comfortable going with 9 this year because he kept talking about experienced and how smart this team would be.

A lot of people myself included saw we got worse from last year.
It was clear as day this was a flawed roster.
You don’t go into a season with just 3 guards if they aren’t really good and complete.
Ours weren’t.

You don’t go into a season with just 3 forwards all new. Nobody knew one of them wouldn’t be ready to play. The fact that wasn’t atleast prepared for was a bad construction.

A guy like Bobby Braswell left. If the coaches explained he would have a defined role and he could play a lot he may stayed.
Instead he saw we brought in Cole and Jimmy and Benny was a 5 star and Braswell isn’t an idiot. He sees the HC doesn’t play the bench and he was overrecruited.

The HC coach is responsible for talking to these kids not his assistant.

Woody left because of stuff. Again I am not going to say anything.

The HC wants to win but he wants to win his way. We are losing more talent than we should.

Who is the HC? Who is responsible for this.

JB got his experienced team and look at what has happened.

This team could use another forward.

When we had a 3 guard rotation with Scoop, Dion, Brandon look at how the minutes were Distributed

When we had a 3 guard rotation with Buddy, Kadary, and Joe look at how the minutes were distributed.

The HC could sell rotations to kids and more kids would want to play.
We don’t do that.

We have iron men now and those iron men aren’t Hakim Warrick, Michael Gbinije, Gerry McNamara.

They are inferior players.

Are you really telling us what was said or not said between the coaches and the departing players? You truly are the fly on the wall.

JB doesn't care what anyone else says about the team. He feels he is above everyone else, and always has. He will do things his way, he always has.
Don't most coaches feel that way about fan board comments? I would think they would put their own judgement above those of random anonymous fans.
