Clean House

Red if he is your only ball handler you should resign or be fired for your gross incompetence in having only one ball handler.

PS Red, Carlos is not a ball handler, nor is he a scorer or a defender
I think the plan was to use JJ and Chance as well. Who is the backup with those two hurt, Cuffe? It was nice that Chance got his toe dipped in the water even if the game was all but over.

I might be thick, is your question which of those three he keeps on the team, plays or something else?
Keeps on the team. Anyone who doesn't think Moore will be pursued harder than anyone else we've lost will be surprised.

I think he'd keep JJ over Moore 100 out of 100 times.

if only there wasn't a rule that said you are limited to hire a coach who played here, things could improve rapidly. what? there is no such rule? are you sure?

imagine how bad wall mart would be if they were limited to hiring people who shopped there.

Which makes sense, and it's pretty shocking people don't see that. Right or wrong.

Where I sit-- get to 0.500, play Moore and Freeman, win a game or 2 we "shouldn't", be competitive in a very meh conference, and next year it is without a doubt the tournament or bust.
Unfathomable how far this program has dropped off to the point where our expectations are this, but I feel the same. Our biggest concern used to be seeding in the tourney, now we can’t even sniff the bubble. I hope Choppa will stick around.

Serious question if Melo truly wanted what was best for his son and his son’s basketball future why would he want Red to coach him? Now we have so much tape from Red being a head coach there is nothing we can point to and say “See Melo bring you kid here and Red will coach him up and get him ready for the NBA”. If I was Melo and wanted the best for my son I would be calling JW asking for him to show Red the door.
If we are keeping a coach because a player we have lost. Thats such a loser mentality.

I guarantee Anthony will be less impactful than Ray Rice.

Wildhack has to realize that Red is an abject failure. This is beyond incompetent. Boeheim really fd up things anointing a totally unprepared man for the job

Not sure JB anointed him. Some believe he wanted his 2nd assistant coach to get it. Maybe JB saw Autry as a good asst coach for him but not HC material.

tinfoil hat time.
JB wanted no part of his successor coming in and shining with success.

Boeheim did not anoint Red. JW did.

Actuallly, Georgetown is looking decent this year, and has a very good freshman big.
They got smoked at home by Notre Dame, the Sober kid is very good but the rest mehh, the have beat up on horrible teams.

You can’t blame JB at this point this is reds team JB at least had a zone defense and guys that could make a free throw
I can blame JB for not retiring when it was clear to everyone that the program was slipping.

JW has done a great job with football, but JB took the program hostage and the University prioritized his feelings over the good of the basketball team.

A good coach can rebuild a roster quickly and get it done in year 1 or 2. Look what Fran did in one year.

And? We’ve barely squeaked past horrible teams.

You ever read what you wrote. In a game where the coach is patching a gigantic whole where they just lost their number 1 scorer the day before, you are gripping that he didn’t start his number 1 scorer off the bench.

Sit down and hope that other players come to play along with Moore and Freeman.
I’m glad you enjoy this product! We beat Lemoyne by 4, Colgate by 2, YST by 9 in Double OT, lost to Texas by 4 (actually showed so freaking heart in this game), lost to TTU by 5, and beat Cornell by 10…It ain’t the “patching a gigantic whole” it’s the freaking program.

I hope you go to each game down the stretch and watch and want to rip your eyeballs out. This team is going to win less than 10 games

This was my first time watching a game this year. He dribbles the ball past half court, passes to someone, and then goes and stands in the corner. He is an empty hole out there. The lack of movement on offense was stunning to me also. One guy has the ball and the rest just stand and watch
This has been the offense for the last 10 years!

Don't forget JW doing a good job with football started with Fran initiating the contact with JW. Granted JW did his due diligence (probably mainly with Kirby Smart) and had the good judgment to hire Fran. But I don't think Fran was on his list. (And probably didn't even know who Fran was.)

Thus my point we should be way better than this and we have underperformed and we may not win 10 games if we lose to Georgetown.

It’s not like he was brought in from another program thinking he needs this much time. He was brought in because he played and dug his feet in and was an asst forever. He was brought in because he could keep the legacy of JB and keep the team together but hopefully bring out the best in the guys. AND HES FLAT OUT FAILED AT THAT.

In terms of recruiting…it’s not like we are bringing in top 10 guys each year. Donnie is our first in a long long time. Choppa is legit scorer. But man I dont think any of the other recruits are worth even keeping at this point that’s on the roster.

Anthony and White for next year are high end players but not the end all be all in terms of game changers.

It’s Syracuse. Name recognition. We bring in a coach that change mentality and culture of this program and get back to being hard nosed, BIG EAST mentality, then recruits will come.
I agree regarding Anthony and White. Both good gets but are they going to be more impactful than Donnie and Moore? Donnie is exhibit A that not all Top 10s are ready to go. Moore seems like the rarity in that he can score, defend, oh and he plays with energy.

Red was such a tough player and he has created a culture of whimps. It's mind boggling.

Start JJ Moore and Anthony together. College game has changed and we aren’t playing 2-3. Use White Petar and a portal center at big spots. Have a freakin plan. Soft as man to man ain’t a plan. Should be an athletic team next year. Would love to show a multitude of looks on defense. Should have multiple natural scorers. Let’s go 5 out and push tempo. You have to establish an identify if you’re Autry. What are Red’s Orange about?
Losses are much easier to take if you see a foundation being set and progress being made to what you are going to be. We have none of that.

Then John has to own this mistake pronto. The buyout can’t be bad and don’t care about Carmelo Anthony .

The insiders on this board who go to practice like the town folks in Hoosiers, what do you see in practice to realize red was the guy?

What a failure across the board.
Their judgment is clouded by their personal relationships with Red/the coaching staff. Pretty obvious at this point.

People need to watch the last ten minutes of Barne’s press conference last night and hear what he thinks of Autry. That’s all I’m going to say.

It’s so incredible how ok ordinary people are when coaches who’re paid millions underperform. We’d sooner get upset at a Spectrum service rep
Funny you say that because Syracuse basketball and Spectrum service are really the only two things that regularly upset me.
