Coach Search Options after Autry

I went to watch Nevada basketball play New Mexico last night. A couple of observations: For the past five years Nevada has been either in the tournament or on the bubble. They get the most out of their players, they don’t have four and five star recruits. They beat New Mexico last night by playing relentless defense, and going after every rebound. They probably out rebounded New Mexico by 10. I didn’t look at the stats, but I think they are rebounded Utah State also by 10 the other day. When I watch the timeouts, Steve Alfred kind of walks over to the referees and he talks to the referees and the assistant coach Craig Neil, who used to be a coach at New Mexico and took them to the NCAA tournament and finished a season ranked 17th frequently runs the huddle. He’s frequently standing, yelling directions, all the assistants are up, shouting out directions. They play hard, and the players play good solid aggressive defense. Great ball movement.

The coaching staff at Syracuse is HOT GARBAGE. If Syracuse had the same players that they have right now, and Nevadas coaching staff…they win a lot of games. One more thing, I was telling my friend that the shooting guard on Syracuse shoots 50% from the free-throw line, he looked at me like I was crazy…. and it is crazy. How do you have a shooting guard on a power five team that cannot shoot a free throw? Unbelievable.

In consultation with my life coach, this thread has caused me to up my Hogan's Heroes episodes from once a day to twice a day. Heck, I'm thinking of augmenting with a Petticoat Junction.
Send help! Or Jay Wright.

Finally all the way caught up. I scanned the last 15 pages while taking edibles and watching Revenge of the Nerds 2. Glorious evening.

Thank heavens that Hodgson actually wants the job enough that he’s actually entertaining this poop show. That’s kind of amazing in itself. A lot of candidates might run screaming from this.
I’m guessing this whole mess is the exact thing some of our insiders were insinuating when they said there wasn’t as much interest fo this job as one would think.

Just want it on the record that I was part of both the Mullen & Red threads for posterity’s sake! Nothing else to contribute, just hoping for the best when the smoke clears. Thanks insiders for the insight. Always an Orange fan regardless…
Michael Graham's Punch on the record.

My thoughts for prosperity and future me -

1) It better be Hodgson
2) It better not be Heather Lyke
3) #2 is more important than #1

This is going to cost us Fran, isn't it?

That would be tragic. I don't care what anyone says about last year. He's a winner. He's a relentless worker who understands CNY. He seems like a first-rate guy too. Losing Fran would be a massive loss to SU and the community.

If all of this is true, what a circus this is. If they go with Lyke the university deserves every single thing that comes its way as a result. Clown show.
