Played terrible and still played the entire 2nd half. That just shows you how important he is to this team. If you disagree with me you disagree with JB because he's the one who kept him out there.

I just want to applaud you mainly for somehow coming up with 46% as not just a reasonable number, but any number. Seriously...46? Was 45 too mainstream?

My view is that Cooney is a shooter. That is his role. He shot the ball really poorly today. Therefore, he failed in his role terribly today. He did some other things well.

It happens. My concerns will be elevated if he shoots poorly against BC because as we saw last year, his shot is dependent on confidence and it would be shaken if he shoots poorly on Monday.
 
OMG! Terrible? The only thing terrible was the assertion made by the OP.

He's a basketball player. He does more than just shoot. Even if you are grading him simply on shooting and playing defense, he still breaks even. He's not a designated hitter, where his lone job is to, well, hit. He plays at both ends of the court and excelled at one of them, and even though he struggled shooting, he still hit several big shots.
 
He is a shooter the way Rautins was a shooter. He has a different role than GMAC did. Andy almost led the nation in steals and helped get the team in transition. Sure I want Cooney to shoot better than 20% but as long as he is helping create turnovers he is doing his job.

Cooney is a basketball player. He made up forhis poor performance on offence and made it up on defence.

Because Cooney has now started to shoot poorly as a trend, Ennis had just one sub-par game. We are hoping this isn't becoming a trend with Cooney as conference play rolls on. That's why I hope he shoots well against BC to get his mojo back.

Today was Ennis' worst game of the season. A lot of poor decisions and his loose ball handling. But he isn't a controversial player like Cooney.
 
People hating on Cooney need to relax- bad shooting nights happen. Like it or not Cooney is our only proven 3 pt shooter. He is better than solid manning the top of the zone and caused many turnovers today as others have already pointed out. Given the attention he attracts (creating space for others) and the comfortable margin of victory I am actually reassured that we can win without a great shooting night.

His last three games he shot 17%, 38% and 17%. I think in order to have a trend you need more than 1 bad shooting day in a row.

All those games are a trend developing. 38% if fine but even that his below where he had been shooting. I'm aware he won't shoot 50% from 3 this year but you won't be concerned if he has another clunker against BC?

Nope but how about better than 15%. Silent G needs more run. I will continue to get bashed by the "experts" on this forum but I'm fine w that. Two games in a row we were better when G want on the floor. Cooney absolutely made some very nice plays on D... but give Silent G 15 shots a game and he does much better. All the Cooney lovers need to accept that he should sit more when he plays like he did today. All that matters is a W though. And we have lots of them.

Bro... was putrid today. If Cooney lovers wants people to respect their bikes views, then admit when he is off he had close to 10 open looks today and made 1. He made a couple others. He was bad on O. Pretty good on D though.

Yeah let's give our fourth or fifth option on offense 15 shots a game. Makes perfect sense to me!

Very confused by this. Should we keep giving them to Trevor and having him go 2 for 15? LOL. Wake up. I get that their is a huge Cooney love fest on this site... but it's insane. The kid is ok. He has all heart. But he has to shoot better if we are going deep in March

multiple people have said he had a good game despite him shooting 1 for 10000000. This is false. He is a shooter. That's his role. Grow up dude. You are embarrassing yourself. ... again
