Class of 2024 DB/WR Willy Love (NJ) Verbal to Monmouth

Damn

This one is a bit of a surprise.

Though they are expected to land some good prospects this class as of now
Greg Schiano is a horrendous coach, the AD is losing money hand over fist, the ratio of money spent to wins is abysmal. Screw Rutgers.

While all that may be true, they are in good position to land a class that we'd be very envious of. They are in a better spot for some big time kids we want bad, currently. Obviously things can change, but whatever their warts, they present a prettier picture to recruits, for a variety of reasons.

Some we can control, and others we cannot.

Play one season at Rutgers to get access to the rest of the Big Ten football programs.
At end of season, get in transfer portal.
Transfer to much better Big Ten program.
Easy-peasy

This interests me. What are they selling that the kids are buying? Big Ten?

Still time to flip him tho…it’s looking Rutgers but I don’t think we are dead….yet
If Rutgers has the season everyone expects 4 wins there will be a lot of decommits.
Surprising he would pick Rutgers. Duce did not go. Clark went and transferred after 1 year. Think he would be talking to those guys. It’s also a crystal ball from Dohn so take it with a grain of salt. If he commits Dohn will reevaluate him to a 99 but when he flips to su he will be a 82.

If Dohn balls him to Rutgers, it's going to be Rutgers

I agree. This kid has a liking towards SU of somewhat, whether he has a lot of friends that goes here or he just really likes us. It's not over til the fat lady sings.

Rutgers has massive NIL money for hoops. I wonder if it’s making its way to football

Lol. Legit laughing because I know you are trolling us and for good reason with all the fake panicking around here lately about NIL.

You think there is some other reason Rutgers is landing 5 star one and dones?

So, so far the staff that came from Rutgers hasn’t helped with NJ recruiting it seems. At this point

One and dones is plural. You only got one 5 star basketball player committed. Also its early. He has plenty of time to change his mind and make a better decision.

For us, our last WR drafted have been:

Mike Williams 4th round 2010
Johnnie Morant 5th round 2004
David Tyree 6th round 2003
Kevin Johnson 2nd round (1st pick) 1999
Jim Turner 7th round 1998
Marvin Harrison 1st round 1996

Six picks over 27 years.
So, same as NC State.

Dino needs to put wins together, including bowl wins. Thats our main issue. Its not Syracuse, NY. Its not lack of NIL.

If we’re going to stay committed to grabbing HS recruits instead of pounding the portal, we need wins and recognition.

How many wins has Rutgers strung together? Tired argument.

Easier to convince a kid to lose where he grew up than to lose 5 hours away
