Class of 2014 Deion Hallmon

I'm still not sure what you are referring to in this thread? It wasn't speculation that he didn't visit Wisconsin in October because he had yet to take the proper tests. Could I have worded it better then saying he wasn't qualified? Sure, but it means the same thing, at the time he wasn't qualified. Based on that don't you think it would be fair to speculate why he hasn't taken any visits yet?

Either way Syracuse didn't visit him last week, and looks like we have moved on, so maybe we should just nuke this new thread as well?

I apologize if my tone seemed to be an indictment on any particular poster. I have noted you providing lots of useful information about many recruits Anomander. My post was really meant to be more of a thanks to Teddy, who simply put the end to some idle speculation about Hallmon's academic ability. The problem with a simple, "maybe his grades aren't in order comment" (i realize that isnt what you said, just making a generalization), is that many other posters read it as fact, then cast aspersions on a kid with know basis to do so.

fair point.

I cant help but also note the hypocrisy of you taking offense to my post, but seemingly having no issue with the numerous posts in this, and other threads, chastising young men who dont owe anyone here anything.

All you have to do is look at the Thomas Holley thread to see me doing just that. Apparently you didn't look very hard.

I take offense to lumping people speculating on who may be here and who may not - the future of the program, and those that spew hate on a kid when he commits elsewhere. Trying to figure out who is qualified and who isn't is part of trying to figure out who will be here and who won't and I fail to see how nefarious that is.

this is just a kid guys relax.
Yup, its just one person wondering and another defending that kid, because he is a kid and speculation can be misread. Seems they hashed it out.

When it really comes down to it we all want Deion as part of our Syracuse family and are hoping he will be soon. Thanks for all the great info on him Teddy, its been a little bit quieter recruitment over the past few weeks, good to have some additional info coming in.

teddy... could be Deion's mother or other relative, which is perfectly fine with me.

I would love to see him become an Orangeman!!!

He's someone who interviewed Hallmon, he said that in another thread. People assume because he hasn't posted here much and he posted what look like facts that he's a family member - he's not.

You have others that have interviewed him that question his offers and his ability to qualify so I don't really know what to believe.

Syracuse recruiting update feedback: Deion Hallmon, downgraded? Still has love for Cuse. Mike Johnson, downgraded? Amazing talent

Think the above refers to recent article on TOS. Seems like she is saying Syracuse still in the mix from their perspective.

If we backed off its probably for one of two reasons, neither is qualified or we like our chances with a couple of others DBs

NIU has some nice facilities. Very impressive for a MAC school. Have a nice IPF. Can see why they are doing things

If anything it shows the how it is important for kids to be prepared for the process and try to make relatively quick, but also informed decisions. Unless you are a 5 star kid schools aren't holding spots for you. Spots fill up quickly, especially at the big schools. You can't really afford to string out the process. Probably not the best thing to say, but if I was advising a kid, and I was interested in attending a school that was tough to visit unless it was an OV, I would gather as much info I could and if felt comfortable I would commit. I would then try to set up an OV as soon as possible, and then if I wanted to de-commit I would worry about that then.

If not you might end up playing games at Toledo, and Eastern Michigan.

I saw before that the visit date was never really set. Maybe it was contingent on something?

I see him scheduled for 1/17... I would hate to make a list of visitors and then have to take him off as Whitey might call me a Jinx.;)

Well before we do anything crazy like that let's see what happens. But from all sounds of it we have moved on

that is correct. seems we have backed off
With all respect, thats one mans opinion from a recruiting service. If we're all honest with ourselves and we dont have a direct ear with the coaches or the recruit we dont really know whats up with this recruit and its all speculation.
