Development in and Around Syracuse Discussion

Went to Heids last week.

I won’t share my order, but it was disrespectful to the Temple that is my body.

it was delicious, and honestly there may be no better combo on earth than a lightly charred hotdog with brown mustard/relish chased with Birch Beer.

In no specific order

Brooklyn Pickle on Buckley (Matt and the owner have been friends since they were children)
Vince's Gourmet, N. Syr
Fair Deli, Lakeland
Lombardi's, Syracuse
Lucky 7, Lyncourt
Thano's, Syracuse
Spera's, Cicero
Blue Tusk, Syracuse
Hiero's, Eastwood
Green Hills, Valley

Which of these things is not like the other?

Oh, I know! Brooklyn Pickle. Love for that place astounds me.

Always loved the same thing (switch the relish to the coney), but I could swear that they've changed their product. Last two times (once in summer 2019, once late last summer) I went there, the dogs and coneys were weird. Smaller, different taste and texture. I'm not anxious to return, though there's no logical replacement out there...not a lot of hot dog shacks around in 2021.

I agree, the coneys are less snappy and the franks are a bit different. But I still go to town

I wish they’d switch to char grilled like Ted’s in Buffalo. Good lord that place is heaven on Earth.

that's why I put the disclaimer about Matt being friends with the owner. Brooklyn Pickle is not good, their bread is terrible and the cold cuts have no flavor.

I have yet to find a deli sandwich in Buffalo that comes anywhere close to Brooklyn Pickle.

Yeah, that's a pretty good description of the quality change. I'm cool with the flat top, though a grilled dog also has its place.

I’m a little drunk and trying to heat a slice of pizza on a propane 1 burner in the back of my camper, but I wanna get in on this sub convo tomorrow

-I didn’t get a notification when I was tagged, so I’m only commenting to remember about this in the morning. You all stay outa trouble

A scam to start that will end with a giant smoking crater and Pyramid walking away with a pile of money that they've sucked out of banks and local government.
The principal on the mortgages hasn’t shrunk by a penny since they were issued in 2014. Seven years later, the debt’s the same. How could that be? Under the terms of the loan, Pyramid has been required to make only interest payments on the loans.

So with the mall underwater, we probably shouldn't build a $4 billion dollar tunnel through a swamp to get to it. Or maybe we should. I don't know, there was supposed to be water park component, no?

I'm assuming this means that the original plans of a total exterior redesign and adding two stories to the existing structure are now out the window?

This was from a few years ago:

What a travesty with very few options to fix. I have no idea how they plan to fill that vacant space. With what or who?
And Part 2:
“Nobody wants to own these right now,” said Gwen Roush, an analyst and senior vice president at DBRS Morningstar. “So if you have an owner who wants to continue to own and operate it, the lenders are almost compelled to work out a deal.”

Rochester, N.Y. — The home of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren was searched by state troopers Wednesday, according to a news release issued by the New York State Police Department.

A portion of Woodman Park was blocked off and troopers could be seen carrying items out of the home at 93 Woodman Park, according to the Democrat & Chronicle.

Warren is listed on property records as the owner of the home, which she shares with her husband, Timothy Granison, the newspaper reported.
