I, personally like the two syllable first and last names, especially when the forename ends in a long vowel sound and the surname ends in a hard consonant. It rolls nicely off the tongue.
I do have some minor concern about mispronunciation of the "ei". Too many people pronounce it as a long e, when it is a long i sound. But, this is Syracuse, and we all know how to pronounce Boeheim. That's why I say it's a minor concern.
HUNTINGTON — Change has been rampant over the last several months for Marshall’s football team with a new staff and a new start on the horizon under new head coach
- NE guy, from Allentown PA
- Played QB at UNH
- OC/QB coach at UNH, FIU, Montana State, Nevada, Sam Houston St, Marshall
- Being at Marshall would have had focus on our traditional recruiting areas
- 46 so still relatively young guy with his experience
Was at UNH for 8 years, Marshall for 4 years and Montana St for 3 years, so has had some 1 year stints but also some good consistent stretches at schools.
If you read his Marshall and Nevada profiles, he’s had some pretty prolific offenses at Marshall, Sam Houston St and Montana St and some high level individual performances in those offenses.
In 2021, Cramsey will enter his fourth season as Marshall’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2020, he mentored quarterback Grant Wells, who e...

Think he checks the boxes Wildhack was looking for.

I think he would be a good long term answer. Unfortunately he has Spring and Summer ball to get things in order. It took him 4 years to really make a difference at Marshall.
Marshall year before: 8th in Total O out of 14 schools, 5th in Passing, and 9th in Scoring O
With him:
2018 6th in Total, 9th in Passing, 6th in Scoring
2019 7th in Total, 9th in Passing, 7th (T) in Scoring
2020 7th in Total, 4th in Passing, 9th in Scoring
2021 3rd in Total, 3rd in Passing, 4th in Scoring

We need more than a modest improvement. Dino typically goes 2-7 vs the P5. We have 10 games this year so we need 4-6 to get to a Bowl. A 2 W jump against P5 competition is a pretty good improvement. Expecting that for a totally new O system is asking a lot. IMO we have a better chance of making that 2 game jump using the Baylor system. That way there is no learning curve.

All this nonsense about “a totally new system on O” is just that -
Nonsense.
Marrone & Hackett installed an entirely new system 2 weeks before the season opened in 2012.
While that season started off slowly (mostly due to Pugh being out w injury), that team was one of our most productive in decades.
We’re not going from Air Raid to Triple Option here.
We totally switched up our O THREE GAMES IN to the season this last year.
And but for a handful of plays/atrocious ref calls - this team could have won 6-7 maybe 8 games.

2012 is a great example of how it takes time. The style changed but the play calls, routes, etc were all in the playbook before. So that made it easier to transition. The O was a work in progress until our 7th game. We were still figuring out how to run the ball, what to do in short yardage, etc. Our first 6 games our leading rusher had over 67 yards ONE time and that game was still under 100 yards. If the change were made in the Spring instead of 2 weeks before the start of the season, we go better than 7-5 that year. The O change at the time it happened COST us Ws. We had a 5 game stretch where we had...

The 2012 team had a ton of O talent. Way more than next year's squad. Yet the O wasn't very good until game 7. Why should we expect more next season?

It’s likely to be not that far off from what we already do. Same HC will have some of the same preferences. I’d bet the run game looks similar while the passing game gets a fresh coat of paint

You could say you're dyslexic and pronounce it hun. Oh wait that's Hun like Attilla, not "hon" like Honey. She might not appreciate that either so never mind.
I think so too. We were blown out of our last three games and our OOC slate will be tougher this year. It also depends upon whether we want to be happy with going from losing seasons to .500 seasons (ie 6 wins). To do more than .500 will require more than a modest improvement, based upon what we showed in 2021.
