Did we learn anything today?

Eh, not really. The Liberty game is the crossroads of the season and honestly of Dino's career, IMO. We outplayed Rutgers for 75% of the game but just fell apart.

If we can play a complete game on both sides of the ball we should expect to win on Friday.
We won’t win if we can’t figure out how to defend a wide receiver screen. Those 8-9 yard ones Albany ran in the 2d half will be 15 or more vs Liberty. Year after year this is an SU Achilles.

That we are better off with both Vettorello and Tisdale on the bench. Just play 4 OL.

Also, did Doug Marrone really reach out to Syracuse behind the scenes to express interest if job opens up? The wheels in my head are turning.

?

Dino did good until the B1G referees got him. After he lost his temper, he has not been the same until the end of the game. Hope Dino learned his lesson from that game.

1) In a counterintuitive way, I think it was good for TD to have Harris sitting today. Forced him to diversify.

2) Most of the things TD did today, we already knew he could do if given time and some guys open.

3) Adams is likely #2 now. Or at least 2B with Howard.

4) We have some other WRs. We need to utilize them more.

5) We can throw to the TE. Injuries suck.

6) too many penalties. Lots of culprits here.

7) Tucker gonna Truck!

8) TD didn’t do anything to hurt his cause today.
GS may have helped his cause some. It’s a little uglier, but he moved the ball. The separation between the two is not that great. Depends on what kind of D we are playing against to some degree. Not an easy decision for HCDB. Both QBs will play.

9) The middle of the field is still there.

Doesnt matter. The team needed this and it was a good day to get a lot of guys a lot of reps. Hopefully Benson is ok…and we’re getting Elmore back to fill that role to.

it was also great to have Taj out today so all these other WRs got reps amd touches.

Great to notch a W, see the 1st team defense play well, and Tucker have a huge game.

The absurd number of penalties is concerning. I know some people are excited about Shrader, but he looks like a guy that has a lot to learn. Pena makes some big mistakes out there. Not sure what to make of the OL, sometimes they look good, other times they... don't. Great to see a bunch of young guys get action. Do we have another WR that makes the play Alford did?
I noticed HCDB kept the 1st team OL on the field for much of the 3rd Qtr. At the time I thought to was to provide Sharader with a fair look, but it may have also been to give them an added opportunity to play together and gel as a unit.

Albany did us a favor by running those. Even the ACCN announers commented that that is a staple of the Liberty offense. If we don't make defensive adjustments on Friday night, it's on the coaching staff.
