Quite frankly, this shouldn't be discounted. Granted there will be ups and downs, but he could stay for 15 more years and be one of the best ever at SU. Why not plant your flag and try to do something that hasn't been done in 60 years? Not like we weren't super close to being 10-0 and on our way to something even more special this year, year 3. Can't wait to see this team in 3-5 years if/when he stays.

Possible. I think the belief around USC is that Swann wants a USC guy. I also hear many coaches think of UNC as a destination that you should be able to win it all (I.e. brand and academic prestige, but can still get in the ones who are lower academically). I don’t see him going within conference though.

It definitely shouldn’t be discounted. He’s a student of history. He loves that about Syracuse, about Ernie Davis being the first black heisman trophy winner. Those things matter to HCDB. I don’t think it’s lost on him that he could be a football legend here. He admires JB and maybe wants to be that guy on the football side.

You can win a title here in this division. He knows that and I just never had the impression it’s about money for this guy; even looking back on all of his stops.

And oh yeah we have a Dome that he loves for this system. Away games in the south, home games in a dome. No brainer.

For a sleezy scumbag, I thought Petrino was very respectful of our team in his presser. No question he knows we're good and said so (particularly with Dungey and our D line) many times. I thought he might tell the reporter who asked the final two questions to go bleep himself, but he kept it nice. Great to have a squad that even Petrino has to show respect.

Fans did their part these last 2 games. Dino emphasizes fan support and as soon as the team gives us a reason to believe, we take over Wake Forest and put 43k in the Dome on a Friday Night.
