The older alumni have seen SU BBall success. It won't be hard to bring many of us back. We have a connection to the program. The problem is the last half dozen or so graduating classes have never seen SU BBall as a Top 25 program. There isn't the same connection. It is sad that JB is creating younger alumni who will be less engaged.
It’s not just the younger alumni but the kids. How many of you became fans as at an early age vs adulthood?

I've thought about that as well but then I think about my sister and brother in law, Villanova alums. For 10+ years I hear nothing from them about college basketball, then Villanova goes on a nice run, and they're diehards.

Most fans are not like us who spend hours on a forum. We start winning again, and cuse fandom will grow, I think easily.

When I start seeing Final Fours made up of Colgate,Kent St,Eastern Michigan and Boston College I’ll see your point.
Maybe when I see a football Championship of Syracuse vs Vanderbilt I’ll get back with ya.

Loyola, Butler, VCU and George Mason were all in mid major conferences when they made the Final Four.

Let’s not forget when AW was hired he had 4 pretty big problems to solve.

Q and the womans program, men’s Lax, football was struggling and men’s Bball was stagnant

Women’s Bball - check
Lax - check (gait has brought back a buzz and recruiting)
Football - check in the sense he hired the OC and QB coach and team is better

Next up Bball - I still think JBs halftime speech and emotion was telling for future

“Clarified” his Weitsman comments too. About the only statement he hasn’t retracted is “I have no other plans.”
I know nothing about any of this is good but JB taking such an extreme shot at Weitsman and saying he doesn't give us anything might be the worst.

If you are Adam how do you feel right now about your investment in SU Athletics and the lack of appreciation being shown to you in return?

Hopefully he loves SU basketball and understands that there's more to Syracuse than Boeheim.

The Women's basketball check may have to go to the Athletic and I am not a lacrosse expert but the checks on Gait and Kayla may need to be held off for a few years. Football being better last year I will give you, but it's been said on this forum that the AD didn't pick the assistants Dino did.

This is the AD's shot - to paraphrase the Wire - he best not miss.

Maybe Adam is part of the group wanting JB to leave so now JB is angry with him also and lashing out. That is the only thing that really makes sense.

Yeah, I see your point on the surface. However, behind closed doors, I'm sure Jim has expressed how he really feels. I think Adam well understands that Boeheim has to be careful on what he says openly about NIL.

On a related note, I'm curious - have you heard any college bb or fb coach express appreciation for those doing NIL deals? I haven't and doubt a coach wants to go there (publicly).

Hire Jeff Capel. He has a handle on recruiting. Look what he did with Pitt.

Adam understands why JB said what he said.

The University should publicly sue the NCAA to get Boeheim's wins back while at the same time internally setting a date specific retirement of this season or next.

SO he likes what JB said and appreciates JB calling him out directly like that?

Adam probably isn't a sociopath so, yeah, it probably doesn't bother him. I think he also understands that NIL is supposed to be separate from the team and booster-type activities, in theory. Boeheim saying Adam doesn't do anything for us is the right thing to say.

That’s the sort of surprise twist that you see in the movies. Nobody would see it coming!

Adam and JB have an understanding. At the end of The Dark Knight when Batman talks about being hunted, Gordon understands.

I mean this was just a year ago. It went from an ironclad plan to I do what I want *snaps fingers*
If you assume he has a contract with an end date and that any decision to retire earlier is up to him (as he clearly-and correctly- believes) it all makes sense. Also assume that SU can terminate him earlier w/o cause and pay whatever the contract says, likely a lot. Also in that scenario SU has to deal with the blowback from his supporters.
I increasingly think a deal is being negotiated whereby JB leaves after this year. The Thamel interview was for him settling the stage for that. He’s a smart guy.
