Does anyone know what happened to Dick in Michigan?

I heard he was buried in the endzone at Giants stadium.

Wow I think there is a great mix of serious bball info and posting as well as goofing, and enjoying the wide variety of personalities here.

I can understand people not wanting threads with half naked women all over the place (well actually I cant) but 'm sure if it had its own forum there would be lots of hits and then others could you know pretend they didn't look.

He got frustrated by the way the board had changed. He didn't find it worthwhile to come here any more. He had no use for the sophomoric crxp that was becoming common place here (e.g., name-calling, threads full of nothing but half naked women and people trolling for tees).

Sounds like you are a fan as well.

He's a great dude, a lot of the older guys left or just don't like that they cannot mix it up in a manner they're used to.

I personally blame the 20 somethings on their parents health care plan... ;)

And this is why we need age specific boards.

I come here far less often than in previous years as well for exactly the same reasons.

I had no idea that my simple inquiry post would get carried off in strange directions, but just to let you know, I got a p.m. for Dick in Michigan and we corresponded back and forth a couple times. He is doing fine, still loves SU sports, and reads OE's articles posts every day. He just does not get into the other threads or post anymore.

When I first found what was a previous version of this forum in 2002 I lurked more than posted because of the clear sense that new perspectives or any perspective from someone new was neither respected nor acceptable. I appreciated the points and enjoyed posts but stayed a lurker more for those reasons. I then proceeded to attend SU from 02-06 and visited and posted occassionally but again felt that same sense of being outside the fold. I really did not start posting more until 2007 and the most in the past 4 yrs in large part to a better mix of posters from before and current and more open minds.

Take that for what its worth but the sophomoric element aside its great to see a more diverse line of thinking and less of what seemed a clique mentality at times. I appreciate everyone's viewpoint and more than ever it seems more posters are involved in discussions than there used to be. If you care not for the new board I guess I understand some of the juvenile stuff but it also seems the fact its not such a select group bothers some as well. Not trying to offend thats just how it appears.

I don't disagree with anything you say. I think the issue raised by some is that ... a few posters here have a tendency to hijack threads and turn them into nonsense (the word of another poster) that is esentionally back-and-forth irrelevant garbage among themselves ... that is of zero interest to every one else.
