I think Doris does not get a fair shake because she is a she. All in all she is pretty good and light years ahead of guys like Dykes and Williams.

Here's my take on Doris.

She knows a lot about the game of basketball. She can explain it very well to the viewers at home and truly understands what she is talking about when it comes to the X's and O's of the game. This is all very good and a lot more than most announcers can say.

But I absolutely hate her voice and at times she gets a little excited and tries to say something like Raftery might and it doesn't work with her.

Careful all if you who are disparaging Doris, 690 will be all over each of you. Unless of course you spit venom about Lou Holtz, I think that evens it out.

She beats Dinkie by a long shot. She isn't great for sure. I think she said Fab was 7-4 . I probably heard that wrong though so her loving he Pear was a bit over the top. even for someone like me who remembers all of his moves like the one Dion made today which was a carbon copy. If carbon was still being used to make copies.

they announced the dion/ classic comparison before a break and i wracked my brain a bit without a good analogy.
frankly the whole pearl /dion thing i thought was way off base. i for 1 don't see it at all. wasted game filler.

I love Dickie. He is makes me laugh and I like his commentary more than Burke's. I'm not saying I'd want him to commentate Syracuse-Georgetown, but he can take all the Depaul, Providence, Rutgirls andUSF games.
