Class of 2016 DT Christian Colon (NC) to Colorado State

Calling James Franklin a scumbag is an insult to scumbags. The guy literally was the perfect hire for Penn St. Fits their culture to a T.

Has he talked about how hot the recruits girlfriends are yet?

I don't know if I was a parent of a commit and was told all the coaches taking care of my son stuff pre-commit. This type of BS might redline my temper. My kid would be taking a lot of visits cause that school would be 100% OUT.

So if Colon takes an official, his offer will be pulled. What is the difference between an official, and an unofficial? Would Colon be able to come up here to check out facilities, and the campus as long as it isn't on the schools dime? Would coaches not be able to speak with him on an unofficial? Hell if that's the case, I'll open a paypal donation account to pay for his flight and food up here. Let the players show him around. Franklin doesn't need to know s--t about it.

Assuming Franklin's not bluffing, should Colon visit any school, regardless of the type of visit, Franklin would yank the scholarship. Should Colon visit any school, it can be safely assumed that his opinion of Penn State, and Franklin, has soured.

Went back and watched Colon's hudl tape. Strong, but a bit lumbering. Run stuffer for sure, but not convinced he's what we need for passing situations. Personally, I like Tony, Ty, and Steven more so than Colon. All three are quicker, and better technicians. I think we should use our remaining slots and go after a few more DBs.

Hey guys, I have spoken to a few friends of friends who have said we are not and didn't actively recruit him. We had a chance before he committed to Ped u to set up a visit and we declined as a number of coaches agree he is big but not explosive eneogh for what we are looking for. We are not talking to him in anyway unless things have changed in 2.5 weeks. They had said he was a great kid. We are being selective with who we want now and he doesn't fit Coach's idea of a dlineman. Bcubs is 100% right on his tape. More bullish with little to no use of explosion off ball.

No matter how highly rated PSUs class is, and it's certainly highly rated, it's still a d**khead move. Were Franklin's recruits at Vandy able to put a "no interview for another job" restriction on him?

No but they could fire him.

I've heard the same thing--highly rated prospect, but a poor system fit.

I would take this DT in a heartbeat but if Bo Peek wants to flip...he tops my list. Cuse needs additional studs in the middle and we are now building some depth which will help the team moving forward.

His recruits at Vandy could fire him? Many of them who came there because of him more than likely and who he then bailed on for a better opportunity? But yet, Colon gets his scholarship pulled if he visits anyone else for what could be a better opportunity for him? Does that seem ok? Maybe in Franklin's world, but not mine.

I dont disagree with your underlying point but the more appropriate analogy would be his employer firing him for taking another interview.

Another thing: you do realize these kids can decommit as well and that happens a lot?

Lastly, I agree its shady practice both ways but I feel it should be viewed more as an institutional problem than blaming philosophies of individual coaches.

You make some fair points. There are plenty of issues out there when it comes to college athletics. I certainly understand a kid can decommit before signing a LOI. I just think the restriction that Franklin, and some others out there, put on a kid like this case, is paranoid, bullying and insecure. It is a philosophy that would completely turn me off to a coach if I were a prospect or the parent

Bo Peek is the best available with any Cuse interest. If he doesn't make it into Stanford, expect the coaches to go all in. He already likes Cuse, and now has friends committed here. Kid would be a great pickup, and there is no way the staff won't take him.

With Rex out with an ACL, he should have time to make sure his teammate Bo parties enough to drop his GPA just below Stanford requirements.
We may need another operative considered with Rex, we're talking about an Eagle S cout who makes sure he's in bed by 10 every night and has never gotten less than an A on a report card.

Hey Scoop, step up your game!

Yep this goes along the lines of what has been put out there. In my humble opinion I totally agree. I think Cross and Clark are better from last class, and feel Peek is superior this class, and is really really coveted.
