Maybe he was too gone to drive and thought the other kid was ok t drive. Not saying it's smart but he shouldn't be charged with a DUI.
He wasn’t

This happened like 15 minutes from my house, they were in the middle of nowhere... Very odd place for two college kids to be going through at that hour, or ever... Party out in the woods maybe?
It’s not silly when it’s the passengers car and he gave the driver the keys.
How do you tell if someone is .07 or .08 (Iknow age is a factor in this case)? It’s not silly when it’s the passengers car and he gave the driver the keys.
If you are to drunk to drive, aren't you likely too drunk to tell if somebody else is too drunk to drive?
Especially if they proactively offer to help you out by driving?
I get the Duke hate, but unless the switcheroo happened, charging him for being a passenger is silly.

Stoning is no longer permitted?LOOK HE ALREADY PAID FOR HIS SIN ISNT THAT ENOUGH FOR THIS BOY WHO JUST WANTS TO FOLLOW HIS DREAM OF PLAYING BASKETBALL LET YOU WHO HATH NOT SINNED CAST THE FIRST ARROW
Coach K is absolutely the movie villain that would say "Where are you going to go? To the police? I OWN THE POLICE."He deserved a few game suspension, or at least should be sitting tonight while they assess the matter.
Coach K is totally out of touch. This guy needs to get called out more for his poor decisions he has made over the past handful of years.
- Grayson Allen leg swipe suspension
- Boorish behaviour after losing to Oregon
- Not suspending Pancho or even sitting him while they assess what happened.
- Questionable recruiting in recent years (and before that)
I don't care if he is retiring, if he is sick, or if he has been great for the game.
He should never have been untouchable like he has been.
Laying down?Banchero was sitting in the back seat! When does anyone sit in the backseat if the front is available? It doesn’t make sense unless you’re riding in a taxi. This smells like “rat” feces.

Isn’t the exact level almost a moot point when someone is underage and shouldn’t even be drinking at all, according to the law, much less driving? You don’t obviously. But even .07 is several drinks in an hour. Neither should have driven. Banchero is every bit responsible. His keys his car his decision to let someone that had been drinking drive.
This assumes that Banchero knew if and how much Savarino drank. The whole thing is bad regardless. You don’t obviously. But even .07 is several drinks in an hour. Neither should have driven. Banchero is every bit responsible. His keys his car his decision to let someone that had been drinking drive.
I just find it hard to believe. If I were to drink a case of beer in 4 hours I would have a hard time standing up.
There’s nothing to see here...Hahahaha. I hope someone pulls on this thread. Like bill rapp in the 80’s
I think they both got arrested because there was a bag of cocaine and a dead prostitute in the back seat and the cops felt it would be wrong to not charge them with something.Isn't that what they did? Both were arrested.
Drinking and driving is not cool under any circumstances period. People having many other optionsI’m not condoning drinking while driving, underage drinking, or anything like that, but, come on, I get charging the driver, but I’ve heard of states that will charge a driver and it makes very little sense to me. That said, if the police need tools and training to prove to them that someone is .08 and above (especially that low) then how can you expect a 19/20 year old to determine if the driver is drunk? In all reality Ks grandkid could’ve had two drinks and they take off.
